Cost of DDP- what happens if price increases after you pay

I'm planning to rent points from a member for our next stay in January 2017. I also plan to add on the DDP. Is it possible that the cost will increase prior to our stay and if it does, what happens if it have already been added and paid for at the old rate?

Pricing for dining plans on DVC reservations are set yearly and are based on check-in date. If Disney raises prices on the plans during the year, those increases don't apply to DVC reservations.

It is possible that the price could increase for 2017. DDP payment is due when you add it to the reservation, up to 48 hours prior to arrival, so once you pay for it you don't owe anything else.

The OP will not be able to add the dining plan to a 2017 arrival date until the 2017 prices have been set. Once DVC pricing is set for the calendar year, the price will not increase even if Disney raises the prices for CRO guests.

when are ddp rates for the next year typically released? June/July?

DVC is the same price as the packages but typically not available to book until later in the year.
