Cost of Antibiotics in Nassau (Bahamas)

Anyone have an idea of the cost of Antibiotics in Nassau? More specifically at the Atlantis resort? My son might have developed a sinus infection and we see the doctor at 1 o'clock. The cost to see the doctor is $95 and they have medication on site. They only take cash so just curious as to how much I should plan for medication.

Isn't it going to depend on what kind they prescribe?
You may want to call the doctor back and ask how much it could likely be.

Unfortunately the doctor isn't in until 1. When we arrived at the medi clinic the nurses were leaving. I think an additional $100 should be sufficient? I currently have about $200 in cash. I suppose we could pay for the doctor and come back with payment for medication if we don't have enough.

My DD had to see a doctor when she was overseas. He also wanted cash, but she could only pay 1/2 in cash she had on hand. He did take a CC for the remainder. (We were reimbursed by our travel insurance).

If the price is very expensive, he should be ok without antibiotics. I know they say most of them are actually viral infections, so they don't help.

I've had multiple bouts of sinusitis. Enough of them to finally get sinus surgery. It's not the same as a cold. Mine responded well to abx. My ENT usually gives a steroid with it.

It's such an awful feeling. I'd pay anything to make it go away.

Thanks all! Turns out he didn't need any. Doctor said he just has an upper respiratory infection. To continue using Motrin and lots of fluids. The nurse said we'd *hopefully* get reimbursed by insurance.

I agree with sinus infections. They're AWFUL! I'm glad he's ok. Didn't want to take any chances being so far from home.

I have no idea, but I'd be curious. I just had to buy some for myself and with insurance it was $3/pill or so ...who knows, in the Bahamas you might pay less.

That's half of what it cost to walk into our normal state side doctors office. Glad he is ok.
