We really don't want to mess with renting a car but wondered if it might be less expensive than taking a cab. Does anyone have a ballpark idea what the cab fare from Pop to BLF (on Irlo Bronson just off I-4) would be one way?

I wouldn't waste my time at Boston Lobster Feast unless you have been there before and really want to go again. We went to the same one in December, the Lobster was small and cold. overpriced $35/adult $15/children if eating lobster and crab.

It's been about 10+ years since we tried Boston Lobster Feast. That was the first and last time. We ate at the one near the Florida Mall and found the lobster to be of poor quality and way overcooked. The tail meat was tough and rubbery, and the claws were just tiny...definatley not Maine Lobsters.

I would suggest you spend your money onsite at a table service restaurant, maybe Narcosees at GF, Fulton's at DTD, or even Shula's at Swan/Dolphin for a better dining experience.

If your heart is set on a seafood buffet, I'd say that the Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club is also better than BLF.

I really want all you can eat crab legs so that was why I chose BLF. My first choice was Cape May but this was a last minute trip so there are no reservataions available for our first night (which is the only night we'll be free for evening dining). I've been checking every day without luck and will still keep trying but thought BLF would be a good back up.

Thanks for all of your input. I'm still trying to find out the cab fare JIK.

If you get to Cape May early enough, they will usually take walk-ins without a fuss when they first open. I think they open for dinner at 5:30 pm. We've done this in the past and even with a large group, we never had to wait for more than 10 mins (they seat ADRs first, then the walk-ins.) I can't remember if they have crab legs but there will be plenty of clams, mussles, and shrimp.

If you are craving crab legs, I'd recommend Joe's Crab Shack. It's just down the road from the Crossroads shopping center and probably a $10 taxi ride from Downtown Disney. I'm not sure if they have AYCE but there was certainly was alot of crab in those buckets and it was mighty tasty!

what are the prices like at Joe's crab shack, menu looks good but no price

When you open the page I linked, there will be another link (below their street address) to a PDF of the menu that has prices.

Typical item:

Joe ’s Clasic Steampot
Tasty Dungeness crab, sweet Snow crab, boiled
shrimp, smoked sausage, fresh corn and potatoes.
Traditional, unforgettable.

I did read that there were crab legs on the Cape May menu but that doesn't necessarily mean they still offer them. I was assuming that we would not be able to walk up for our meal there. That's very good information to know. Thanks!
