I've seen this alluded to, but how much more per point more should I expect to pay for a smaller contract? Since Sarasota Springs and BLT are supposed to be the best overall bang for the buck, what should I expect to pay per point for either of them for:

50 points vs 100-200 points vs over 200 points
loaded vs regular vs stripped

ROFR threads are your best bet to really compare. Sometimes you can still find decent deals on smaller point contracts. A fully loaded contract is "worth" at least $10 more per point it has that a stripped contract doesn't. A contract with full 2016 and 2017 points gives you a value of $20-25 per point over one with no points until 2018. In practice the two contracts won't be that far apart. You'll likely pay $7-10 more per point on the loaded contract.

Smaller contracts aren't worth any more, they're just rarer so supply and demand applies. I recently paid $100 a point for a loaded 50 point BWV contract. Larger BWV contracts usually range from high 80s to mid 90s depending on point status, but I felt I was getting good value at $100 since it had all points coming including partial banked 2015. If market on an average 150 point contract (some points, not loaded) at SSR/BLT is $84/$115, I would look to pay no more than $10 over that per point for a 50-75 point contract (although I've seen small BLT contracts in the $130s). Maybe $5 less for >200. A little more if loaded, a little less if stripped.

The other reason smaller contracts are pricier is that the DEMAND side seems to be higher for them as well (cheaper way to get into DVC).

One thing to keep in mind when buying smaller contracts is that not only is the advertised price going to be more expensive (probably around $10 per point) -- but your closing costs are about the same for a small contract as they are for a larger contract -- so your price per point will go up even more. For example, if you are buying 200 points -- your closing costs will likely be between $500 and $900 ($2.50 to $4.50 per point). If you buy 50 points -- your closing costs will still be around $500 or more -- which is $10 per point.

This is something to keep in mind with respect to buying direct vs resale. Sometimes direct is not that much more expensive...particularly for BCV, VGC or VGF. If your price spread between resale and direct is about $40 per point for anything 50 points or less, I would say just go direct...especially if you are going to be buying annual passes more than once. Closing costs are only about $100 direct, plus you get to purchase with your credit card, which gives you some "free" points/miles, which saves you 2-3% depending on your credit card. The difference in closing costs alone "knocks off" about $10 a point for a 50 point contract ($20 a point for a 25 point contract), so that $40 gap becomes $20 or $30. Also, if the resale contracts are stripped, there goes another $10 in value. From there, paying an extra $10 or $20 per point is worth the benefits if you're going to get the gold APs so long as you don't mind the blackout dates (Xmas and Easter).

The stripped contracts aren't discounted as much for the points lost as they should be. 50 vs 150 or above will vary but all else equal, likely close to $10 a point difference partly due to closing. In reality they are a larger difference due to the fact that smaller contracts seem less likely to be loaded and more likely to be stripped. I'd use the ROFR thread's for actual numbers.

I don't want to promote a particular Resale company over another, but, ironically, I just received an email from one of them that contained average resale prices for November and December, by resort, along with the amounts at which DVC exercised their ROFR. Interesting information.

That is interesting! Can you post that info here, or share how we could access it?
