corrective deed required after resale closing?

i just closed on my first DVC resale contract (WDW, so florida) and have been waiting not-so-patiently on my points to arrive when i heard from member services that my deed needs to be corrected. apparently the signatories from the (corporate) seller weren't the right officers?

while i'm not thrilled about the delay, the title agent has been super responsive and is assuring me that the seller will issue a corrective deed ASAP and i should be good to go in a few days. i'm just curious if this has happened to anyone else before and if so - anything i need to look out for or demand so i'm not missing anything down the road in case i decide to sell?

thanks

This is the title company's job to fix it. This is why you use a title company. Assuming you have a decent title company, I'm sure they'll have it handled like they said.

Did Disney notice the problem when the title company submitted your contract for ROFR? Because that's your title company's main job to get the paperwork and signatures in order before submitting. Not to call them out, but I'm just curious who your title company is.

Good point. I'd be interested what shows up at the comptroller. Maybe that's where the issue came.

the title company is a big one i've seen mentioned a lot around here, so i can believe that this was just a random hiccup. the mistake was not caught at ROFR (and may not have even been an issue at that stage, if it was particular to the deed). the deed as recorded on the comptroller site looks fine to me, but if the issue is something peculiar to the corporation that sold the contract, i wouldn't notice that anyway.

i'm confident this will get sorted in the near term - just wondering if i need to be on the lookout that could impact if/when i sell down the road.
