Coronavirus: why you should not go to Disney World when it reopens

It's sorta like partying in New Orleans. Sure, you're probably going to get murdered, but what better place in the world is there to get murdered?
Really? I've vacationed in NO several times, including Millennium New Year, and I'm still here. As long as you don't do anything stupid it's pretty safe.

Well what about the great information about what happens if you catch only five viruses versus the five million? I didn't know that. I also was unaware that getting it a second time will result in a much more extreme case due to mutations. Well, I guess that information itself must have gotten some kind of virus by the time we got down to #9, because now we don't know what happens if you get it a second time. Guess this must be serious now. Gotta get to work on my dodge ball posture.
We really don’t know any of this, but we need to learn why some get no symptoms, some moderate, some severe, and some die. Why aren’t the young getting very sick? This information would be great to have. Is there something in childhood vaccines that is somehow protecting our youth that older people don’t have? I get more optimistic when something new is discovered.

I suppose you could ask OP those questions. I'm not optimistic about your prospects of getting answers, or quite frankly the value if you did.

Of course it would be much easier if we could have all the answers, preferably months ago.

It's not a given that the "young" aren't getting very sick, even dying. A lot of questions remain about the lingering symptoms that are showing up, particularly in children and younger adults.

There’s an old saying that when a storm goes through a forest it knocks down the old trees first. So that the younger ones can grow. With this virus is just simply taking out people that already are older or weaker. That’s really what it comes down to, as one ages naturally they will have more medical issues or are easier to breakdown. It’s the basic case of the strong survive- younger are stronger than older. .Sure you can medically analyze go in the detail but that’s what it really comes down to - survival of the fittest.

OP those are your reasons for not going. They don't apply to everybody. Some of it makes sense, some doesn't.

The unknown isn't all negative... there are positives lurking in the unknown too. Plenty of people are working on it, there's a good shot some succeed and help turn the tide.

But it’s not that black and white, many young heathy people are getting very sick, and some are dying. If it makes you feel better you can believe it’s just the sick and old, but that’s just not true. So many dead who could‘ve lived for decades more.https://www.nj.com/coronavirus/2020/04/who-is-most-likely-to-have-coronavirus-in-nj-those-ages-30-64-new-data-shows.html

But now that I read your post, and you obviously know more than Disney risk assessment people,

just keep in mind-any risk assessment professional hired by a company is hired to evaluate the overall risk to THE COMPANY so just b/c disney or anyone else's risk assessment peeps supposedly sign off for a reopening it doesn't mean it's in an individual consumer's best interest to partake.

i would also add that any return visitor who considers going to disney or any resort/amusement...type setting in the future-it might be worth the time to just read through the verbiage on those sights where you buy your tickets/make your resies b/c those great risk assessment people have been providing information to the legal types such that new and much more extensive and binding language has already been entered into some use agreements to accept in exchange for entry onto the premises full and permanent release of the business and ownership for any injury/mandatory quarantine...extending to findings of gross negligence. i warn of this b/c i have personal knowledge of a large resort that has already inserted such language into their resie system (which most people click past) and guests are now learning after traveling to the location that prior to check in/availing use of the amusements that they are required to sign a hard copy reasserting their accepting of the terms. that resort's risk assessment was 'don't open now but if you have to in order to stay in buisness-'CYA'.

This is concerning!

If you really thought I had luggage packed in the car for a trip to Disney when it opens, I have a bridge to sell you. It's used, so I'll offer it cheap. :rolleyes1

I went to the IRS website to check the status of my check. Put in my 2019 tax info and it said it did not have the information needed to deposit my check automatically! The funny thing is, they had the information they needed to withdraw the money I owed them from my account!!
But who in their right mind in Walmart, decided in all of this mess, that it was a good time to do a store reset???
1. If you have caught it and survived, you may
2. By avoiding crowded places such as Disney World, you may
. If you hide from the virus long enough, by the time you catch it, the doctors might know
4. If you get deathly sick in Disney World and end up in the hospital, chances are
8. If you catch covid in Disney
Lots and lots and lots of qualifiers, assumptions, unsupported opinions in this list. No facts, though.
. When Disney World reopens, there will be a bunch of horrible adjustments to make life miserable: temperature checks, social distancing, cancelled parades and fireworks and events, wearing masks in 95 degree heat and humidity, monrail not running
So, a list of excuses why YOU CHOOSE to stay away. Fine. Don't go.
