Coronation Street

The episode where Haley has passed and Anna and Carla have entered the apt just aired today here in Canada. I'm having difficulty getting the image out of my mind. The first time I've seen such a realistic looking corpse on a *Soap Opera (*Cdn term).

I was not expecting it. I"d read the info for the episode before hand.
Our satelite info. reads tomorrows episode would show what aired today. Has Coronation Street ever had a visual like this in past episodes?

I would tend to agree with you on this one, I did think that the make-up used on these final scenes of Hayley’s was far beyond I’ve ever seen before on a soap opera which airs on prime-time TV.

I don’t ever recall Coronation Street doing this before now. Previous ‘deaths’ have of course been shown but none as detailed as that of Hayley’s. The last I remember them actually showing was Jack’s, when he went to join Vera. This one they showed Jack in the chair, but he just looked like he was sleeping, rather than dead.

Didn't Jack also have Vera visit him as a ghost during his passing too, making the scene a little less macabre?

I didn't see the whole Haley thing as I have become less of a Corrie fan over the years. I do remember the time Bet Lynch was caught upstairs in the Rovers when it was on fire, she was crawling along the floor vomiting. That one I found upsetting at the time.
