I just booked at this resort. few questions.
1. Do you have to pay the 10% at pepper mill if you do not eat there. We usually take our food back to room.
2. Which room-section would be closest to the dig site that is not a preferred rate.
3. When you look at the map it looks like casitas is a very long walk to the dig site. Is there a bridge going over the lake or do you have to walk around entire lake to get to it.
4. Is the pool and slide worth it. I wanted to go to Port Orleans but DS wants this one.

1. The Pepper Market automatically adds the 10% grat. but it you ask politely and firmly they will remove it charge. Some CM's act like it a big deal, but stand your ground and the charge will be reversed.

2.The Ranchos section is the closest to the Dig Site. (And my families personal favorite.) In reality every section is only a 5-8 min walk to what ever is furtherest from them. Confusing??? Let me try to explain. The Casitas are located 2-3 min from El Centro,and 5 min form Dig Site. Same with the Cabanas. Ranchos are 2-3 min to the Dig Site and only 5-8 min from El Centro. The bus stops are located near each section and very convient. The map appears to make the place dauntingly huge but the walking times are not bad at all!!!

3.There is a bridge over the lake. It's a beautiful walk especially at night when the lights shimmer off of the lake!!! It is breathtaking!!!

4. The poll and slide are awesome!!! Be sure to hit the pool during the day to enjoy the slides. They close the slides in the evening but the pool remains open. There is a 20 person hot tub at the Dig Site that is wonderful to experience after a full day at the parks.

1. No you do not have to pay the 10% for take out orders.

2.Cabanas, or Rancheros are closer to the Dig Site, Cabanas are are sort of inbetween the Dig Site, and the Pepper Market which I think would be the idea location.

3.We have been stuck in the Casitas section the last two times and the walk is not that bad only about 5 or 6 minutes there is a little bridge to cut across, but is does not cut across the whole lake, just a little section by the Rancheros.

4.YES!!! The slide is definately worth it out of all the resorts I have stayed at this one has the best slide, it is our main reason for staying at this resort over and over and over!

1. No, you do not have to pay the 10% at PM if you do not eat there but make sure the ticket you use to purchase your items is the pre-stamp TO GO ticket. Just let the hostess know that is what you want.

2. Most of the cabanas are considerd waterview but 8a is the closest to the Dig Site.

3. Casitas 5 is the closest to the Dig Site. There is no easy way there otherwise but the distances are no that extreme.

4. Best pool of all the mods. Your DS will love it.

Walking Distances
From El Centro moving clockwise around the lake path to:
Casitas 3 = .16 miles
Casitas 4 = .24 miles
Casitas 5 = .27 miles
Ranchos = .46 miles

From El Centro to the Dig Site, via the bridge near the Cabanas
= .35 miles

From El Centro moving counterclockwise around the lake to:
Cabanas 9B = .16 miles
Cabanas 9A/8B = .22 miles
Cabanas 8A = .31 miles

OR

Take the bus instead of walking
Theme park buses go:
2 - Casitas
3 - Ranchos
4 - Cabanas
1 - El Centro

Downtown Disney buses, as well as Park Exit buses go:
1 - El Centro
2 - Casitas
3 - Ranchos
4 - Cabanas

CSR buses go in this order so that guests can hop on board a theme park bus and take it to the main building. They can then hop on a DTD bus to get back to their rooms.
