Coronado Springs- standard vs Preferred

Is there much difference in these?

The preferred buildings are only in the Casitas section and are real close to El Centro BUT not as close to the main pool area. We like the Casitas section with the fountains but prefer the Cabanas section for it's location. We have not paid extra for preferred at any resort so far, mainly because our family actually enjoys walking through the resorts with their wonderful themes

I wouldn't pay for it there.

I would pay for it at CBR or ASMu.

We stayed at CSR last month. We were in Ranchos 7B. It was very close to the Dig Site pool and not too far from El Centro. We walked around the entire resort, and I didn't think Casitas was much better as far as location. We prefer to be closer to the main pool than the food court, as we don't eat there often.

Not all casitas sections are preferred. Only 1, 2 and 3 are.

Proximity to El Centro is the only difference. It all depends on whether that is more important for you than proximity to the pool.

We only book into CSR if we can get a Business Class room (Cabana 9B). It's close to both El Centro and the Dig Site, plus gives us access to the business class lounge for breakfast and evening snacks/drinks.

We were in the Ranchos too, and actually super super close to a bus stop. Unless you need to go to El Centro often, I actually think it was more convenient than being close to El Centro. The stop was never packed the way the El Centro area stop seemed to be during busy times. We went to the pool for coffee in the morning, b/c it was closer. The one night we planned for dinner at Maya Grill, we just timed our return so that we got off right at El Centro and straight to dinner. I'm sure location is a matter of opinion, but if you're going to the parks daily - I'd rather be near a bus stop that isn't the busiest.

I was there in June. We had a standard room, I asked for cabanas 9b and we got it no problem. Very close to el centro, there was a quiet pool right outside as well as the laundry facilities. This was an excellent location. Also bus stop right outside. I would request this area in a heartbeat if we stay there again! Even got daily towel animals from housekeeping!
