Any experience eating at Pepper Market? I have heard it is not a Disney owned and run restaurant. Do they offer gluten free items such as the allergy free chicken tenders etc? Considering a stay here but we are a family with food intolerances and must avoid gluten and several others. Also want to make sure they have kid friendly options for kids with dietary restrictions. Thanks!

We stayed there this summer. The chef came out to meet me and cooked food for my son separately. He was charming and helpful. It took about 15 minutes for the food to be cooked each time. He did some sauteed chicken for us and some gluten free pasta once, and another time he did some plain fish. The chef was really kind and caring.

It is our favorite resort, so we have stayed there many times, and although I do give them another chance each time, they always let us down. They have been the worst for dealing with our allergies on property and I got pretty sick the last time I ate there. BUT that was 2 years ago, and they may have stepped up their game. I am going to try it again (am I a glutton for punishment?) next trip. I keep HOPING they will get with it because I do LOVE CSR!

During most mealtimes there is still a greeter where you enter. I would ask there to have a chef come out, rather than ask at the food stations. The stations can get busy and the person you speak to there might not know all the ins and outs of food issues. When it's slow ask at the stations for a chef.

They periodically change menu items there too. Last week I found a 4 year old printout they let me take back to my room for the lunch/dinner menu. Still had the steak listed, both at the grill and the Mexican station. Those were the good old days, a small steak dinner with a CS credit. This past September they had a really good crabcake sandwich for those who like shellfish. They are always tweaking their menu, so it can be hard for the workers at the stations to keep up with changes as they affect special diets.

Just back from another stay and this time they did SO MUCH better than any previous trip. I will come back and post photos and reviews, but much improved and the Maya supper was delicious!

I just added my first two reviews for CSR foods that are gluten free here.
I will add more over the next few days.

Thank you SO much for these reviews. I just stumbled across this thread during my planning. We're staying at CSR next month and most of the GF reviews I've read have not been promising and I was starting to panic. Glad to hear that you were able to find good things to eat.

Do you happen to know if the nacho chips were fried in a separate fryer or if were they prepackaged?

I added some photos from Maya, too. That was a delicious meal! I still have a few more to add (lunch and breakfast at pepper market) and will do so over the next week.
:)

Thank you!!!We had to book CSR for our next trip and I'm nervous about gluten free options for my picky nine year old!! It would be nice to have some options at the resort and not have to eat in the parks all the time!

Just added photos of another gluten free meal that is easily made dairy free as well as the current gf cookie option at CSR Pepper Market (same link here )
:thumbsup2
Still more coming...I'm just getting through photos slowly!

It use to be our favourite resort. I am glad to hear they have stepped up their game and making the extra effort needed for allergies.
