Thank you so much for sharing. That is a great photo to show the size of the safe. Would you mind if I copy and pasted that on the first page where we have a picture of the safe -- so we have a "empty" photo and a "filled" photo?

I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay at the CSR. Happy Holidays.

I don't mind you using it at all. I hope it helps some people!

We just got back from our trip tonight. We had a pleasant time at the Coronado Springs. Only minor disappointment was that we didn't get anything fun in our room from the mousekeepers (fun towels, etc.) It would have been nice to have something at least one of the days. As well we had horrible luck coming back exhausted to our room to find that it was in the middle of being cleaned, but that was just poor luck!

We rented a car and felt that CSR was in a nice centralized location to all the parks.

yes, my family got the stomack virus. We first stayed at The Swan Dec 3-5 and moved to CSR Dec 5-11. I thought I got food poisoning on Dec 6 but then my son got sick 2 days later and then my husband. I don't think it had to do with CSR b/c we ran to a couple of family that had the same thing and they were all from different resorts. My son threw up in the middle of the night all over the bed and I called housekeeping and they came within 10 mins to clean up the beddings and the next day they had the whole room stanized but the virus was already in our systme. I don't believe it was the resort.

The bug is going around all of Disney (resorts and parks). And since people visit other parks (like Sea World and Universal) during their vacation, I would expect it to be showing up there as well.

Looking forward to staying here in February!! Thanks for all the info and pictures.

We at CSR stayed 12/20 for one night.

We did online check-in, and there was one person in front of us at the online check-in line when we arrived. Our room was ready!

We were in a king room - 9210 (in 9A). I think it was an accessible room? The bathroom was huge, and there were bars and the shower head was movable.

It was a pretty awesome location for us. Very quiet. Not too far from the hot tub. Very close to the hammocks! And easy to get to our car.

We really loved CSR. I was a bit confused at the lack of acknowledgement of our anniversary (we got buttons from MK instead), but the rest of it was heavenly. We didn't eat at the resort (I've read the restaurants are not great for allergy requests), but never had a problem refilling our mugs. Also we froze a bit when we came back from MK at 3am. I'd turned the heat up before we left, but that apparently didn't do any good. Hopefully our next stay will be longer and I'll figure out how to work the thermostat! :rotfl:

How warm are the pools? We are going at the end of February, but swimming is a must - DD6 would be happy to spend the whole week playing at the hotel! So I am guessing that it will be a daily requirement, and I'm expecting on some days it will have to be at night before bed, brr! We can always warm up in the hot tub! Any comments?

Also, do all the rooms have the aqua accents on the bed covering and wall? I thought I saw one photo that showed a tan color bed covering (no aqua at all). I know it sounds silly, but I am very partial to aqua. :)

Alix Great photos!

Terrific photos...thank you so much for sharing. I'm glad you enjoyed your short stay at the CSR.

Our kids in our Grand Gathering have swam before at the end of February - the pools are heated; although not overly so - at least when we were there.
They love the Dig site pool and the slide; and also the huge hot tub.:thumbsup2
After the storm yesterday and today - I can't wait for Florida!!

All Disney pools are heated year-round to about 80 degrees.

We had two rooms last week, both covers were aqua. The pools were lovely, 86 degrees and above. The hot tub was wonderful too.

I wasn't crazy about our location, but next time I will put a request in.

As others have already said, the pools are pretty well heated. We were there in February last year and it was really quite cool...never got above sixty the whole time! Definietely below average temps! Bottom line is that we're from New England, so even sixty felt pretty good and we had no problem swimming, even if it was a bit cold walking back and forth from the pool to our room.:cool1:

After the last two days of snow, freezing temps, and wind I can't wait to be back in CSR's hot tub come February! :woohoo:

We always drive to Disney so I always just pack a cooler for breakfast and snacks. This time we are flying. I know that the Resort store will have many breakfast and snack items. I am trying to decide if it is worth the delivery cost ($20 at least) or should I just purchase the items in the gift shop. We are on the Disney Dining plan so I am only looking for breakfast and late night snacks. What are the prices like in the shop for items such as milk, oj, cereal fruit, yogurt, and chips and cookies? Do they sell beer and wine?

Just booked our room for our March trip! I'm so excited to be heading back to Coronado Springs! I am reading this thread again in preparation for a great 8 day stay!!!

Has anyone done this recently. I was thinking about shipping some or our breakfast and snack items. How should I ship - USPS, or UPS? How much does Disney charge to hold the package? What address should I use and other info on the label?

Joining this thread, I'll be at CSR with my family March 13-18, 2011! Can't wait! :cool1:

CSR is my favorite resort. I have stayed at Poly, BLT and value resorts. I feel this is my home. I just recently booked our next trip for May 9 - 17th. Mother, daughter trip to celebrate the completion of her first year of college. only 5 more to go. Cabanas 8A is where I want to be now. May can not come soon enough.

Yay!!! We will also be there May 11-19 for a Mom-Daughter trip!! :thumbsup2
My DD is completing her 2nd year of college and I am so proud of how well she's been doing!
And I totally agree....... May can not come soon enough!!!

We just returned from a five night Christmas stay at CSR and we have to say it is now our favourite resort!!! It was amazing!! The beauty, the buildings!! Incredible! There was building painting going on while we were there and the refreshed colours literally seem to make the buildings "pop" even more!

We were originally going to be in Ranchos but asked to be closer to the main building. We were moved into Casitas3 and it worked out perfect - sort of half way between then dig site and the main building. We swam 2 days and the Dig Site was amazing. DD was in heaven! We ate breakfast every day from the Pepper Tree but had take out and ate at the little tables out side the Maya Grill. Fabulous!

Our room was awesome - I asked for ground floor corner and would have gotten it had we stayed at Ranchos. I then got 2nd floor water view and it was lovely! The beds were so comfortable and DH was thrilled to be a in a queen size bed!

I learned so much from this thread about CSR and was so grateful for it! But like others before me, wonder, who designed the placement of the stairs:scared1:??? Seriously... it took us days to figure out how to get up to our room:rotfl2:

Obviously there were no conventions going on over Christmas and that may be our only concern for how busy it could get there. But without a doubt it is now my favourite resort and the first one I would definitely return to!!:santa:

Whew! I finally read this whole thread! Thanks for all the hard work and wonderful information on CSR. You have convinced me! We are taking our first cruise in July (Dream) and wanted to spend a couple of days at WDW before we go. We thought about Pop, but it just looks so busy. We have stayed at POR (it was nice, but it needed some TLC in 07) and at CBR in 09 (pirate room and loved it!). We stayed off-sight in 08, and I so missed all the magic. I think we are just mod snobs! The values are just too busy IMO, and the deluxe resorts don't fit as nicely into the budget. After a busy year of grad school, full time job, and kids involved in everything, I wanted somewhere to relax and enjoy. I think I am going to try for Cabanas, but I think I'll be happy with anywhere. My sis loves southwest style, and she and fam will be joining us. So, I want to surprise her with the resort I pick for our before stay. They will be flying from OH, so they will need to take ME, so I don't know if I'll be able to keep the surprise. We are also not doing any of the main parks (just a waterpark one day and a special breakfast), so we will be spending a fair amount of time at the resort enjoying all it has to offer. I'm nervous about not going to our fave places, but excited to try something new. I still have a while before we go, but just love the planning stages! Thanks for all the great information!:yay:

Thanks for this thread! Our first trip to CSR is in June, and I am both looking forward to it and feeling anxious. We have stayed at Deluxes up till now, but CSR looks lovely, so we wanted to try it out. I do have 2 questions, though... First, am I correct in reading that there are no balconies on the rooms? I guess that means that there are just windows rather than sliding doors, so asking for a ground floor room wouldn't make any difference, would it? And second, I thought I saw somewhere that the Dig Site has a zero-entry area, but I don't see it in the pictures and it's not mentioned on the WDW website. Is that correct that there is zero entry?

Thanks for any help!!

:flower3:

We've got a preferred room booked at CSR for arrival in 11 days. I want to put in a room request and was wondering whether I should request Casitas or Cabanas? We'll have a car so the bus stops don't matter (I hate the bus). Ideally, we'd be close to the main building and close to the main pool or the quiet pool We've never stayed at CSR before so any advice would be helpful. It will be me, my wife, DD10 & DS14. Lastly, how many floors are in each building (Casitas & Cabanas)? Thanks! Can't wait to get there!
