Great news! Best wishes for your brother's recovery.
Thank you.
He was in surgery for over three hours, but all went well. He has a long recovery ahead of him, but the surgery worked and I can relax again. I also got the great news that my mammogram was clear. So I can now say that I have been cancer free for four years.![]()

I have not even got to work on my January trip report yet.....and I am already planning another trip.
My husband and I just decided to cancel a vacation we'd planned for the summer and head to CSR for half of spring break instead. We'll be there March 31 - April 5. I can't wait. It will be just my DH and DS who is 3 and a 1/2. (First trip without my daughter who will be with her dad when we go.)
I am thinking we might just enjoy CSR and not buy park tickets. Has anyone else done a Disney resort trip and no parks? Any sugestions? Do you think we will resisit the lure of the parks?
We just did the parks in January (when they were not crowded) on a discount. Not sure if I want to pay the big bucks for crowded park days over spring break. I imagine myself drinking Pina Coladas by the pool and playing with my DS.
I can't believe we are going back so soon!
I think this sounds great! Your son is a good age to do a day trip to Sea World if you really want to hit a park. And if you feel the need to see characters do a character meal at one of the resorts. You can take him to Downtown Disney to the Lego store for fun. I think that would so work! Oh yea, how about breakfast at Boma and animal watching at AKL?![]()
The Lego Store has a temporary location at the moment. There is no play area for the children at this location. The Lego Store's grand re-opening is scheduled for April. But there are other things to do at Downtown Disney. T-rex has a dig site, but then so does CSR. There are boats at DTD you could ride to check out other resorts. The onion rings and dip at the Turf Club are pretty awesome at SSR. The restaurant is close to their boat dock. You could always take a bus to MK or Epcot and ride the monorail to check out resorts or restaurants. You could also check out the animals at the AKL. Could also head over to the Boardwalk in the evening and watch the entertainment there, (juggler, magician, etc.) walk or take a boat over to Beaches and Cream.
Thanks for the correction on the lego store... haven't been there since last year. Hate to give bad advice.
Congratulations to both you and your brother!![]()
My next two trips are at POFQ (due to their new rehab), but I'm already missing CSR and for some reason keep checking this thread almost every day.Oh well, I'll be back at CSR in Dec (if I don't change my mind for either my early May or late Sept trips).

For a few seconds I was looking for the "like" button.I am so glad to hear your family and you are doing well.
I look forward to hearing all the wonderful info you provide about CSR. Just when I think I know everything about this resort I learn something new. I had no idea you could request microwaves. That is awesome. Thanks again.
Hi all, thanks for all of the great info. Are there pool towels available, or should we bring our own?
Booked a room for Oct. 1st - 8th. This will be my 3rd time staying here, 1st for my sons(17 & 15). I know they will love this resort as much as I do! I used a pin code I received in the mail, so that makes it even better
I have been in the Ranchos & Cabana sections & liked them both. I have not made any requests yet, thinking of taking my chances on room location & just asking for ground floor.
I added the quick service dining plan, with my boys coming along this will be put to good use at the Pepper Market!
One question for now though, can you use dining plan credits at the snack bar by the pool?
Hi, Janet. Yes, you can use the credits at Siesta's at the pool. Mark and I usually split a lunch here when we have our pool break in the afternoon. We really like the chicken fingers and the nachos.
