Coronado Springs Resort - New Unofficial FAQ Thread - November 2011

Staying here in 38 days! Quick question - planning on having Costco deliver water. Anyone know what CSR will charge me for this? If it's exorbitant, I will have it shipped to AKL where we are spending the first 3 days of our trip. Just wanted to avoid having bell services transfer it between resorts.

TIA!

We have had Garden Grocer deliver orders both times we have stayed at CSR and there was no charge for them storing it at Bell services until we arrived.

I arrive at CSR in two days!! I should arrive between 2 and 3 (we fly in just before 1 pm to MCO) so it will be perfect timing to check in (OR WILL IT??? we'll see!!). We have 4 preferred rooms between the 14 of us. I ordered a big grocery order from wegoshop and it is my first time getting groceries delivered anywhere from anyone. I've already had questions and talked to Amy (the owner) and she was really nice.

Everything is ready and we are all really excited!

So one last (or maybe not :rotfl:) question for CSR experts...We are taking some professional family photos (my sister-in-law is a photographer) and wondered what you suggested as a back drop. And if you think one area has a more 'Asian' theme to it. I know, it's a Mexican-themed hotel but we will all be dressing up in yukatas/jimbeis and dining at Teppen Edo with my Japanese brother. We will get lots of pictures at the Japan pavillion, but we suspect we'll have an easier time taking some at CSR where it won't be as :crowded: and before our make up has melted :rolleyes1 Or I've thrown off the yukata because I'm not sure how silly :joker: we will all look. But if I do that, my brother is going to be :furious: I'll let you know how THAT goes!

The courtyard fountains in the Casitas area are beautiful and would make a great backdrop for your pictures.

I think Costco ships the water UPS so there could be a charge assessed.

And you didn't tell me this, why? :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

So happy to hear it.

I know, I know!:rotfl: I am also VERY HAPPY to be going back. We are so excited, its our last family trip before ds heads to the USMC. The last time we stayed there, he was 11!

Trying to decide if I want to ask for a section or just go with what I get. Last time we got Ranchos and we enjoyed that very much.

I beat you. It has been 10 years for us. LOL

You did beat me!

Dh and I were just saying tonight we have no idea why we haven't been back, we absolutely loved our stay there.:confused3 Just so many resorts and so little time I guess!

Any Maya Grill reviews? We ended up booking our arrival night dinner there. I figure we'll check in bright and early, head to MK, come back in the afternoon to unpack, eat at Maya Grill then head back to MK for the evening. I saw the updated menu and it sounds quite good!

We ate there twice last year and enjoyed it, the best part was the rita sampler...:drinking1 I was on a fajita bender and their fajitas were pretty tasty (beef with green onion??)

They were generous and gave us extra black beans for my daughter's dinner. Don't remember what DH ordered but I know that he really liked it. One night there was live music (guitar...maybe singing??? remember the ritas were a big hit:lmao:)

I wish it was a zero entry pool....but oh well....

So how would you rate it for an 18 month old? Too deep? Is it set far apart from the other pools/slides? I have a 5 year old too and dont want to miss out on him having fun too!!

Does anyone know what time in the am is the earliest they will let you check in. We are thinking of driving all night and getting in early in the morning of our check in day, then napping. I realize actual check in isn't until 3 or so but we have arrived at 8am before and been able to get a room if one was available. What if we arrived at say 4 or 5 am? Just wondering.

We have checked in at Disney resorts as early as 7-8am. Sometimes the room is ready, sometimes we've had to wait. I really think it just depends on if someone stayed in the room your getting the night before or if it's already ready.

yes, any body of water does count as waterview at WDW.

Even though I know this is so, I always crack up laughing at this fact. Talk about your broad definition of "body" of water. :)

How deep is the dig site pool? I didn't realize it wasn't a zero entry pool and we go next month.

Last year A was 19 months and spent most of our time in the kiddy pool. I put her in a life vest when we tried the big pool. I'm only 5 ft and wasn't really comfy when I couldn't touch (that's when Daddy would take over)

As far as proximity btw the two pools, I'd give ita pretty close but not close enough to really watch both kiddos in both pools at the same time, IMO

Anyone know what current delivery fee for UPS packages is for Coronado? My search function didn't perform well & I have gone thru several pages with no luck so far. (I know I saw it when I read the entire thread last year!)

I think it is 3 1/2 feet near the slide and goes to about five feet deep?

I haven't seen any recent posts of anyone shipping to CSR. The last one I remember, I think the person was charged $10 for a case of water. I think it depends on the package size.

Looking for recommendations for Nov/Dec 2013 trip. Settled on CSR but I am not sure what location to request. Cabanas 8A or 8B for closeness to Dig Site and busses to parks or Casitas for closeness to ElCentro and busses to parks. Since it is Nov/Dec and weather is variable would the cabanas pool location be a good chioce? Or would it be better to go preferred with the Casitas?
