So excited to officially be returning to a long overdue trip to CSR! With free dining which makes it even better! It will have been over six years since our last stay there which is hard to believe.

Can't wait.:cool1:

I just finished reading through the ENTIRE thread!! I was a newbie when I started, but now I feel like an expert! We changed our reservations from ASMu to CSR for August 15-24th. Can't wait to try out our first moderate! It looks like a lot of us will be there at the same time:

8/15-8/19!!

August trip (14th-22nd)

August 15 -22

Aug 17-25

I'm getting so excited! Keep telling our DS that next month on this day, we'll be doing <insert fun activity> at this time! :rotfl:

I'm glad I didn't tell DD about the Tink soap! We are going to have to change resorts and dates. I found and AMAZING airfare on Spirit. Round trip DFW to Orlando, $80 per person AFTER taxes and fees. Southwest's lowest is $77 before taxes and fees, so I really scored!

Just wanted to say Hi Neighbor!! We're 10 minutes down 380 from you!!

Anyways, I do have a few questions even after reading everything:

1. Some people mentioned being able to see the higher fireworks from some of the shows. Where's the best spot to check this out while on a nighttime walk?

2. When we check out, can we call bell services to come pick up our bags?

3. Do the buses start running an hour before the parks open, even on EMH?

4. What is the coffee counter window at the PM? I only saw it referenced once in this whole thread!

5. Kinda off topic, but we're going mid-trip to US/IOA for a night. Anyone know what the best way to get a cab would be and how much it'll cost? We're leaving SUPER early in the morning, so I really don't want to leave it until that morning (too much of a Type A ;)).

6. Really off topic: any recommendations on good places to rent jet ski type vehicles (on property)??

Thanks so much!! Glad to join in such a fabulous thread!! :thumbsup2

Hi! Actually, I'm not in Denton. I'm 10 minutes out, too, in Providence Village. I just put Denton because I thought no one would know where PV is. But come to think of it, no one out of DFW knows where Denton is, either!

Lucky you getting to go next month. While you're in DW, I'll be going back to work. (teacher)

Still headed to CSR in September. Kept calling and my dates with free dining opened up!

And you didn't tell me this, why? :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

So happy to hear it.

I feel weird asking but I think this is the best place to do so. We are thinking csr for our 2013 trip. My dad says that it must be a resort with an elevator to the upper floors - is that an option? We are going as three adults and two young children. We are thinking building 9

:welcome:to the CSR thread! I'm not sure I know the answers to all of your questions, but someone else will jump in and help.

1. I've never seen the fireworks at CSR - we are always in the parks. But I have read that you can see some from the area behind El Centro.

2. We usually bring our own bags at check out since we drive and park close to the room, but as far as I know, you can call Bell Services.

3. At least an hour before opening. We have caught a 7:15 bus to MK on a 9:00 opening day because we had a breakfast reservation at 8:00.

4. There is a walk-up window at Pepper Market next to the entrance. There is a picture in this post:

http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=43150409&postcount=5

5. You can call for a cab to pick you up. You might have to get it at the main building instead of your building. A room key is needed to get through the gates to the parking lots (except the main lot). I don't know if they will let a cab back there or not. They should be able to drop you off at your room since you will have your room key.

Check out this thread for transportation options to US/IOA:

You can estimate cost here:

6. Generally, the best place to rent any kind of watercraft is at the MK resorts. You have more space to play at Bay Lake.

CSR has elevators that serve all buildings. Many of the buildings are only two stories high, but some are three or four stories.

The top floor of casita 2 is tricky to get to with an elevator. You can either take the casita 2 elevator to the third floor and walk up the stairs, or you can take the casita 3 elevator to the fourth floor and walk around. Those are preferred buildings, so if you don't book preferred, you shouldn't have to worry about it. Fourth floor casita 2 rooms start with 24xx - if they try to give you those rooms, ask to be moved. :thumbsup2

Our favorite section with kids is the cabanas. Our favorite building is 8A, but we have also stayed in 9A and enjoyed it.

I beat you. It has been 10 years for us. LOL

Thanks for the honest review. The last 2 times we have stayed at a moderate it has been POFQ. I prefer CSR but we stayed at POFQ since the girls were smaller the slide there was more there speed. I sort of feel like we have outgrown POFQ and will be back at CSR next month. But I prefer CSR overall to POFQ. But everyone has there favorite. I think next year we may try POR it has been a bit snce we have stayed there.

DH put a life jacket on DGS (2 remember?!?) and sent him down the slide (with me having a heartattack waiting at the bottom!) DGS LOVED IT, learned to go down on his belly, feet first so as not to drink the pool dry. Daredevil just like his father!:confused3

I'm sorry... I don't have time to read the whole thread so I am hopping someone can help me out!!

We have reservations for a KING room Oct 11-19. Are the King rooms spread throughout the resort or are they in one general location?

Is it best to request a certain location or just go with the flow?

Do the buildings have elevators? My hubby has bad knees and after a full day of walking stairs can be brutal.

We LOVE to relax in the hot tub at night. Back to my room request question should I try and request a certain location to be nearer the hot tub?

Thanks so much in advance!!

put in a request to be close to the elevators for medical reasons. As I sai in my mini-review a few pages back, the walk from the elevator to your room can be LOOOOOOONG!!!!

After much deliberation and changing of plans, we are finally settled on moving up our Fall trip to Labor Day weekend at CSR! Can't believe it! We were originally planning for October, but our State cancelled fall break so then we were gonna go Thanksgiving week, but decided it would be too crowded. So I bit the bullit and decided to pull the kid outa school for a few days around Labor Day and boom we are leaving in 39 days! Wow that's the first time I have pulled a family trip together this close to departure. Kinda nice too! First time for our whole family to be at CSR. 9 years ago the kids and I went with my parents and then Hubby and I have had a short trip for a convention a few year ago. This will be a double celebration of our 20th anniversary and my sons 18th birthday! Just had to share my excitement with fellow CSR lovers!

Can anyone point me to on the thread, or does anyone have, pictures od the PM breakfast buffet? I have seen a lot of the lunch, but can't seem to find breakfast.

1. Some people mentioned being able to see the higher fireworks from some of the shows. Where's the best spot to check this out while on a nighttime walk?

Stitchandpoohsmom anwsered the other questions.

The best place at CSR to see the EPCOT fireworks is from the 4th floor in Casitas 4. We had a room up there last time and it was great. If you aren't comfortable going up there and standing in front of someone else's room there are some benches in front of Casitas 4 by the lagoon which should have decent views as well. Its nothing like watching from Martinique 25 at CBR where you can see the medium and high ones, but still entertaining!

As saskdw mentioned, casita 4 facing the lake is best for IlliumiNations and casita 5 (upper floors) facing the ranchos section is best for Wishes.

You can also see these from the seating area by the laguna bar behind El Centro but just the high ones.

Just returned see comments below

Just a few questions. Sorry if I overlooked these!

1. I booked a preferred room. Do you have a favorite preferred location? We stayed in Casista 1 - didn't like it too far to everything except El Centro (which we didn't eat at) We were upgraded when we got there. Wish I would have pushed for a different location, but sometimes you don't know what you have until you have it.

2. There is still free wireless, right? I will have to do some work on our trip. I too tried to get some work done, but everytime I tried to log into my works secure network using a SecureID it would kick me out. Wasn't ever able to log into the secure network. The regular wireless worked ok, I had to call and have it reset so it would work, once I did that it worked ok.

3. How late is the main pool and slide open? Too far from the main pool to enjoy it, went once and by the time you walk back to the room you need to swim again.

4. I am not sure I understand how dinner works at Pepper Market. We'll need to eat there on our arrival evening. There is some sort of stamp card? We will be on the dining plan if that matters.

Thanks everyone! :goodvibes

I was just looking over the conventionnlist and see that one has been added whenni'll be there- Nov 29- Dec 2 NCA/NDA Christmas Extravaganza
Does this mean what I think? We the resort be full of Pop Warner cheerleaders? Anyone been there when this convention is and can give some thoughts?

We were ar CSR last Nov/Dec during the NCA/NDA convention. I had dreaded the Pop/Warner type of behavior too. Let me assure you this is a differnt group. We didnt hear any noise from this group all week and barely saw them because they are in buildings practicing routines for the parade much of the time. When we did encounter them on the bus and at Cafe Rix they were very polite. These are mostly high school and college age girls and definitely werent brats. Go and have a wonderful time. CSR is a great resort.

Awesome, thanks for sharing some first hand experience!! We are looking forward to CSR so much ;) we will have our car so we don't plan on using the busses much at all.

My family will be checking into CSR on Monday, Dec 10! We're driving, and our ETA is about 1:15PM. After checking in, will we be able to make it to MK in time from the 3PM parade? We don't reall unpack, so if our room is available, all we'd be doing is dropping our bags there before heading to the bus stop.

The last time checking into a Disney resort, Port Orleans, seemed to take forever, but I was 14, so "forever" may not have been terribly long. :hourglass
