Coronado Springs Resort -- New Unofficial FAQ Thread -- November 2009

There are quite a few folks who can't tolerate feathers, so I'm sure Disney has a back-up plan form them.

We had such a great first visit to CSR that we are returning in January. I want to make ADR for Boma but we will not have a car. Getting there is no problem we will be at AK that day. I don't want the long drawn out process of getting to TTC and then bus back to CSR. Especially since AKL and CSR are so close. Does anyone know how much a cab ride will be between these 2 resorts? How many people do the cabs fit. We are a party of 9, but I don't want to take more than 2 cabs.

Quick question. We're booked for CSR in November.

We just got informed that we could get Swan Dolphin for $119 a night ... which would make the price equivlant.

The only difference is that FD is included with CSR and dining would be out of OOP at Swan/Dolphin.

What would you do?

Okay, I've never been to CSR and am a bit nervous about our February stay. I have a couple questions and I figured this would be the place to ask. We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids (10 and 13). They do like swimming so I'm hoping earlier posts I read about the pool not being heated is not correct. Can anyone confirm that? Also, my kids are allergic to feathers and can not have down comforters. I'm wondering if those beautiful bed coverings are in fact down? Does anyone know that? One more question: does the counter service have a good selection for older kids? They'd be happy with chicken tenders and fries but they no longer eat off the kids menu. Thanks a bunch!!! I really appreciate any help! It's all so overwhelming. :)

I'm not sure about the pool or the comforters, but know about the counter service at Pepper Market. My 14 year old son really enjoyed it this summer. He ate quesadillas, ribs, steak, and loved all of the desserts. I think your kids will be very happy with all of the choices! ;)

We are returning in Jan to CSR. This time my mother would like to join us. She wants her own room but wants it to be connected to our room. Disney tells me that I can make the request but there are no guarantees. We are going the end of January so I don't think the resort will be sold out. Has anyone requested and not received a connecting room?

We loved CSR when we stayed there in June. I have never stayed at the Swan/Dolphin, but have considered it before because Epcot is our favorite park and it would be so convenient to walk there (and the deluxes are so expensive). I think if you plan to spend a lot of time at Epcot, then it would be worth thinking about. But if not, then I would probably stay put at CSR with FD. It is a beautiful resort - and FD on top of it! :thumbsup2

I love the Swan/Dolphin and the area over there! So Beautiful!! It would come down to free dining for us. We have a family of 4 and the FD would be worth it for us to stay put at CSR.

we are going to CSR in 6 days, and i see all this faxed request over to the hotel....ok I am going to ask a dumb question. What is this fax request for and what does it do.

also what is the number and what do you put on the fax request.

thanx for any answers....

I'm thinking about booking CSR for next August. Can someone tell me where the preferred rooms are located? Are they worth the extra money? I would like to be close to the dig site. Also does the dining plan work the same at CSR?

Last year, it cost $15 for us to come back to CSR from AKL. We were only two, so I can't answer about capacity. If you ask at AKL's concierge, they may be able to call a van for you.

This is good info to have! We'll be having dinner at Boma. My plan is to take the bus straight to AKL from the park and then save time by taking a taxi back to CSR.

Next year, we might be taking a taxi TO Boma from POR for breakfast. That should cost a little bit more since POR is not as close to AKL as CSR is.

26 days until we check into Coronado Springs!!!

I'm already too excited to sleep.

Don't forget to add in the resort fee and parking fees at Swan/Dolphin. You also wouldn't be elegible to use Magic Express to get from and to the airport either. As a nurse I can frequently qualify for great rates at the Swan/Dolphin, but even though I've priced them out a few times, thus far I've never booked with them. When you add in free dining, I'd go with CSR, even though I love the location of all the Epcot resorts. I have stayed at BW and even though I loved being able to walk or take the boat to both Epcot and DS, the bus system was terrible to MK and AK. All five Epcot resorts shared a bus.

Just curious what is different about Swan/Dolphin than the other Disney resorts? Is it not owned by Disney?

The S/D is owned by Starwoods. So it has it's disadvantages and sometimes has it's own promotions that may or may not be better than the Disney promo.

However, in my case, I have chosen to keep with the CSR package. It's the right move, I was just getting cold feet about it. But all good now... on to learning all about driving to parks vs busses.

The fax request is just to request a specific room / block in the resort. As stated it's only a request so you might get it, you might not.

The fax number is: 1-407-939-1001. Include in your fax that you would like to request one of these rooms from date ___ to date ___ and you can't wait to get there as a little extra but also call the reservation line and have them put it on your reservation too.
