Just got our tickets today. CSR standard view with the quick service dining plan. We have 2 kids 5 and 7 with 2 adults. The tickets say Standard bedding at this resort is 2 Double beds. When I booked it said 2 Queen's. And from what I have read here its 2 queens. Is this correct?

Also should I request a certain area. Figuring we have the dining plan with the refillable mugs and kids. If its nice out we will be useing the pool.

Thanks
Jim

Okay, I am going to book a room only reservation. Now what about all of the advice that was given to be about where to stay. I will book my reservation online and then call and ask for a specific area.
Now where did I put that paper.
I will ask again.
We will want to stay close to the bus stop(and not the last one so we will have to stand), and then close to the main/slide pool and food court.
Is this a possible request or asking to be close to everything is out.
Thank you soooo much

Hi, Jim. Yes, all of the rooms were convered to either two new queen beds or a new king bed. If you want to be close to the main pool, Cabanas 8A or 8B or one of the Ranchos -- all close to the main pool, but further from the main building (you can get your mugs refilled at the pool during operating hours which I think are 11 - 7).

Well, with all you want to be close to, you aren't going to get all of those. First and foremost, please remember a request is just a request and not a guarantee. DH and I prefer Casitas 4 or 5 -- close to Bus Stop 2 which is the first stop picked up and dropped off for all of the parks (the order goes Bus Stop 2, 3, 4 and then 1 for the parks); from here it is about a five or six minute walk to the main building for me (and I am 50+) and about an eight minute walk to the main pool.

Called and added our room request to our reservation today and linked our reservations with my sister's family! Getting so excited for our stay! Since our reservations are linked I am assuming that chances are good that they will put us in the same building? Can I expect that we might be close to each other? (same floor?)

I had planned orginally to stay at CSR, then switched to the Poly for our May trip. My husband has stayed at the Poly with me, but I stayed at CSR alone. I felt uneasy about so called right back switched back to the CSR. I want him to experience the pool and beautiful lake with me at CSR. Also Rix Lounge:cool1: No regrets, love the CSR!

Well, this I wasn't expecting. I know how much you enjoyed your stay at CSR, but I really thought you wanted to stay at the Poly with your DH. I think he will love CSR like you do. And you have the added convenience of the Rix Lounge! I'm so happy for you. :goodvibes

I've totally enjoyed reading through this thread as we booked CSR for our upcoming trip. We have stayed at POP the last two times, so I'm pretty excited about movin' up to the moderates!

Welcome. We are glad to have you join us, and happy you've enjoyed the thread. We have many posters here who have stayed at CSR who would be happy to answer any questions that may arise. :thumbsup2

Does anybody know if you can order the Mickey head shaped cake at CSR? I would like to order a birthday cake for my friend's son and want it to be "juvenile" looking, not just a cake with flowers.

I know! The price difference was almost $700 for the Poly and I really like that fact that the CSR is kind of secluded. Also I started thinking about the terrible bus service we had at the Poly last year, and the bus service at CSR was fantastic.

Hi everyone. I am just joining this thread. Here is my story...

My DH and I and 2 kids (DS11 and DD8) are supposed to be going on a Carnival Cruise in 2 weeks. Well, my DH is a Harbor Master at a Marina on the St. Croix River and major flooding is expected. Because of that my DH will not be able to go on the cruise as he is the only one there who knows what to do in a flood situation (last one happened 10 years ago). We have to know by next Wednesday in order to get 50% back on our cruise. (We are hoping the marina steps up and pays for the money we will lose out on by having to cancel).

My DH told me to go with the kids but I don't like to spend $5000 on a family vacation and the whole family does not get to go. He had been really looking forward to this.

So, anyway. We were planning to go to Disney next year for the kids spring break, which is a couple of weeks earlier than this year. (Mid March) But, now we will probably book a cruise again for then as my DH doesn't want to go on cruise in the summer. (don't want to take kids out of school).

So, if you are all still with me - I am thinking we should go during the end of August as that's when they typically have free dining and that would be awesome!! Last 2 times we went we rented DVC Points and stayed at AKL and BWV - Loved both of them. But, to get free dining can't do that and will not pay rack rates for Deluxe.

I had my mind set on staying at Caribbean Beach, but then I came across this thread and this resort looks awesome. I guess it have never even crossed my mind to stay here. I think my kids would like it also.

Do you think I should book now even though things are still up in the air? Will I get a total refund if we do end up going on the cruise? I just keep hearing about how resorts are filling up and don't want to not get a room here. If I book a room only can I change to the free dining at that time or is it better to book a package at this time?

Also, I have been reading this thread and trying to figure out what area to request. I like to be able to fill up my Disney Mug alot - so, want to be close to that - I think there are 3 places that do that? Close to The Dig would be cool but not necessary - we can walk there as we usually spend a few days at the pool. I hear bus stop 2 is the 1st off and on - so, that would be good.

I am a little overwhelmed as usually I start planning way before the park hours and dining reservations are due, so I feel behind. But, love the planning.

Sorry this is so long..... Lynn

As KatMark said, you can't get all of those, but we were very happy w/our location, thanks to KatMark and CSR posters on this thread. We requested Cabanas 8a or 8b, and got 8a, right next to bus stop 4(I think that's the right #) and a 2 minute walk to the main pool. It was probably 5 min. walk to the food court, but we usually stopped there on the way back from the parks, so just got off at that stop, and walked back to our rooms. We did not have a problem w/space on the buses, but we did use our car part of the time(which was convenient as well as we were next to the parking lot also.) The laundry area was right next to the quiet pool, which was just one building over, so a great location for us!
