Is there a location that is central to both the main pool and the food court area or is it one or the other?
As long as you can fill your mug at the pool I don't think we need to be near the food court area.

Cabanas 8A or 8B would probably be the closest to the "main pool" and the "main building." We were in Cabanas 9A in September and it was a short walk to the main building and about eight minutes or so to the main pool. We usually stay in Casitas 4 or 5 and it is about a five minute walk to the main building (at least for me....I walk at a normal apce) and about eight minutes to the main pool.

Yes, you can refill your mug at the pool.

DisneyLover75,

good review, thanks for the details. sounds like you did the right thing to get moved so you could access your phone... much better than stewing about it all week! :)

FWIW we were on ground floor of casitas 4 and had no trouble with our cell service, we have verizon.

Is anyone there now and can confirm that SW airlines is now a participating in the RAC program?
TIA

We are staying at CSR for the 1time ever. 1st time ever @ a Dis resort too!!!! This would not have been my 1st choice of resorts bc i am not a big fan of "southwest" themed stuff, but this is a last min trip and we are getting 40% off the room for the military discount rooms. After looking around here and reading and seeing everything, I like what i see. We are staying in a standard room. So i am guessing we will be in the "far away" buildings.... any rooms we should ask for/ request? We are a family of 5.... cast includes Carla (thats me!! the mom and planner) Jimmy the Dad and driver lol and 3 kids.... Gabriella 5 yrs old, Vincent 4 yrs old, and Nicholas 2 yrs old. We don't mind walking a lot, but i would like to be closer to the food court and little store, bc we will be eating breakfast there and buying milk for in our room for the kids. We will have our own car, but we are going to try the buses since we have never stayed at dis b4, we have always drove and parked in the lots. So help me out......WHICH ROOMS SHOULD I REQUEST? LOLOL

12 DAYS TILL WE LEAVE :cool1:

First, welcome. We hope you love CSR half as much as we do -- then your trip will be a huge success. :)

Just because you have a standard room does NOT mean you will be in one of the "far away" buildings. There are standard rooms, water view rooms, king rooms in all three sections of the resort (Cabanas, Casitas and Ranchos). In your situation, I would request being in Cabanas 9A or 9B...as these are relatively close to the main building. May I also suggest that if you were to get a room in the Ranchos, you could drive your car around the resort to the main building and have breakfast and then drive back to your section.

I might also suggest Casitas 3 or 4. Both are well within five minutes walking distance of the main building and then you would be close to the first bus stop which is Bus Stop 2 (this is the first one picked up and dropped off for the parks, but not Downtown Disney). We love Casitas 4 -- it is our favorite.

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask...there are lots of helpful CSR faithful here willing to help.

Thanks so much, I am writing this down so i remember lol I have so much to do bc this is a last min trip. I have to pack for 5 people and get things ready for the 16hr road trip down there. I also am trying to make gift bags from mickey and gang for my kids bc this is a SURPRISE trip.
So on a side note how is the weather late march at Disney? should i bother packing jeans and sweatshirts for the night? or will shorts still be ok at night. i know i have read during the day it should be in the 80's ish

When I went back in 2004 during mid-late March, I definitely wore a sweater most nights! I would check out weather.com and search Orlando. They give a great 10 day forecast! :)

I will plan on takin some warmer weather clothes!!!!! I am so friggin excited to stay at a Dis resort, i can't wait lolol. I want to do my packing but since this trip is a big surprise for the kids i can't pack during the day....I have to wait till after they go to bed. So i have been making list....Yes i am a list maker big time lol.

We went twice the last week of March, it was warm both times, we swam, I don't remember but one evening it was a little cool, I ended up buying a beach towel to wrap my DD in for Spectromagic. Enjoy!

We went last year mid march and it was hot enough to swim during the day but the nights definitely needed a sweatshirt or light jacket. Although the weather has been crazy this year so I would keep checking the weather forecast.

Yes, the weather has me baffled as well. We arrive Saturday and while highs in the low 70's sounds great during the day, lows of around 50 don't (if we are still in the park after sunset). DH is worried about the kids getting cold when they get out of the pool (he is SOOOO over protective!)......but this is during the day!

Also, we currently have a reservation for four nights. I called to book an additional fifth, only to find out there are no more standard rooms available. I could change to a king or waterview, but did not want to pay the extra. Do you think I will have any luck once I arrive to add an additional night and be able to stay in the same room? Thoughts?

:goodvibes

I can only say last June we had res. booked at CBR and it was filled when we went down at that time according to internet reservation info. However, on the way down we realized we were going to arrive a day early (yup, I got the husband who says "We're going the whole way now, no stopping for us"). So, I called when I realized this and they said "yes, we have a room and you can keep it as the same one for all your days, no moving". Great, I thought, but cringed when I heard the full price. This was just for us to sleep in basically at that point, so we ended up staying on International Drive for like 60 bucks instead of almost $200. Woke up early and checked in at Disney.

YAY we are booked at CSR for March 22-26, requested cabana 9b...thanks to the help here....I also rented a stroller thru Magic Strollers, great price ($80 bucks for 4 days with rental insurance) better than Orlando stroller (who i was going to use, but they were $115 for 4 days with rental insurance) Both carry the same City Mini double stroller. Anyone use Magic strollers b4??? I also have ADR for 50's prime time Cafe on monday 22 at 3pm. I ordered my Safety Tats (I swear by these, won't go on a day trip to the zoo or to Disney with out them). No i just have to pack our clothes.

If we are more interested in the main pool area what section would be best for us considering that we also need to park our car and don't want to walk too far to our room. Would the Rancho's section be better for us? We don't plan to use the food court since we have deluxe dining and have our meals at TS locations.

Also, when on the dining plan that gives you a mug...when do you get that mug? When you check in or when you visit the food court for the first time?

Cabanas or Ranchos would give you the closest location to the Pool.

Cabanas 8A or Ranchos 7B in particular.

For DP with a mug...they give you Credits on your room Keys for 1 mug for each member of your party. At the CSR you just visit the Pepper Market and Pick it up.

Just when I gave up on being able to stay at the coronado springs I see it available. I have decided to switch my dates in the hope of free dining and now the resort is available. I do not want to lose it again but want free dining.
Any advice? Should I book the hotel/package and then if free dining is offered call back and change my reservation.
HELP!!!

Absolutely book it now...You can always change it later. I originally booked room only 500 days in advance, just to be sure to get a room, then changed it when I got a pin code, changed again when I got a better pin code and changed again when a better general public deal came out. The key is to get that room!
