It's a small world. :)

Yeah, we were lucky and got a good rate through southwest for $165 round trip per person.

Was able to use that $25 coupon to save more when I rebooked which I did a couple of times. LOL

Howdy fellow KY and IN folks!

Hi all,
Just back from 12 absolutely fab days at CSR.
We were in Rachos A with a water view room, well we could see a small lake so I take it that is a water view room? - Did not request anything before hand as we wanted to see what we got - Close to the Dig Site but a bit of a walk to the PM, not bothered about that though as you get a great walk around the lake and the view is beautiful.

Mousekeeping was fine, no problems at all.
Service from the front desk was great.

Eat most nights at the PM - On free QSDP - expected to pay a 10% tip but when we checked out we discovered that we did not actually get charged any tip for our meals at all. A couple of the ladies mentioned the tip and we said that we were aware and that it would/should be added to the bill, but as mentioned above this did not happen.

Buses were fine, not too crowded, did have to stand up a couple of times but as the parks are nice and close to CSR this was not a problem.

Weather was really nice for the first week and a bit but then rained for a day or two, did not spoil the fun of course.

We noticed a family of wild pigs roaming the grounds, 3 baby pigs as well, came quite close to us at one point as well. Spoke to a CM as they saw them and he said that he had heard about them but never seen them before.

So CSR now has a menagerie of wild animals for all to enjoy.

For anyone waivering about going to CSR then DON'T it is a great hotel with GREAT service.

Now can I afford to go again...................:rolleyes1

We saw the wild boars as well with the babies. They were not really in the resort area when we saw them but more on the opposite side of the driveway leading around CSR.

We live on the Illinois/Indiana border and we're flying out of Indy as well. We're going Southwest and our tickets were $204 per person, round trip. That includes taxes. We leave in 49 days and can't wait!:cool1:

Oh I can't wait. Have always wanted to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and now I don't have to, I can see wild pigs at CSR! :rotfl:

I didn't make any specific location requests, but with booking 2 king rooms, I asked that they are near each other....wonder how that will work out?

Wild pigs?
My kids would love to see them on our trip. It's like a redneck AKL!
:thumbsup2

Thank you so much for this thread. I am so excited to stay at CSR. We don't go until May so I will live vicariously through y'all.

We will be there in 17 days. I will have camera out and ready for pics of the Wild Boars if I see them and will post them here (I think I've decided to take my laptop with me).

The time has finally come and we are going to CSR TODAY!!! Our flight doesn't leave until 6p and we wont be checking in till about 9p tonight but I'v over joyed with excitment!!!! Thanks to everyone on these boards you all give so much great info I feel like I already know what to do at when I get there! ONly thing I'm kicking myself about is I forgot to send out a fax for a room request. I had it noted in my rez but I was going to fax something and I forgot when I was at the office yesterday. So I'm hoping it wont be a problem if they don't put me in the location I'm requesting and we could change. Either way I'm on VACATION so I need to just ENJOY!!!!!

Have a magical trip!!!

Just booked last night for 5 days in Nov. DH and I just decided yesterday that it would be possible for us to make a short trip in Nov. I have NEVER made a reservation this close to an actual trip to WDW before. We wanted to stay deluxe, but with only having 30 days to get this trip paid for by the 45 day mark we are doing moderate again. So then we had to decide which moderate. We stayed at CBR in 2005 and loved it but we wanted to stay somewhere different. Neither of the PO resorts appeal to DH so that left us with CSR. I hope I've made the right decision. So I'm signing in here to learn what I can from those of you that have stayed here before.

Welcome! Please don't hesitate to ask questions...there are lots of "repeat CSR dwellers" here (including me ... I'll be there in 17 days for our 9th stay) who are more than willing to help you or answer any questions you may have.

I want to stay at bus stop 2 as well. Do think there will be a lot of convention people there.

So excited to tell the kids we'll be in Disney next month!

We enjoyed our stay at CSR once again...it's the only resort we stay at now. Used ME & it was scheduled to stop at AKL, Kidani & CSR...stopped at CSR 1st. We were glad about that as last yr. it stopped at Pop 1st.
Used online check-in. the reg. check-in line wasn't too long, but I was the only one in the online check-in line so we walked rt. up to check in. We requested Casitas 4 & got our request so I was thrilled. The CM said our room was ready so we decided to take a walk over & get settled. When we got to the room we found that it wasn't ready at all. Mousekeeping was in the middle of cleaning it. She seemed embarassed that she was still there & apologized. I didn't really care, but it would have been nice to know the room was NOT ready to save us the walk back & forth. Room location was the best yet, 1st floor Cas. 4 rt. near the Quiet Pool. At first thought this would be noisy & annoying that people would be in the pool late at nt., but I never heard much noise at all. It was very convenient having the pool so close to our room as my younger son took a few swims at nt. after a day at the parks. He loved that. When we did return to our rm. after getting a snack at Rix Cafe, Mousekeeping was just finishing up, apologized again & gave me extra towels. Needless to say, we were given extra towels every nt., which was good since we really go through them. This is the 1st time I have walked into my room at Disney & it smelled really clean, like bleach. Some people might be put off by that, but I'm a bit of a clean freak, so it was fine w/ me. I still sprayed Lysol on everything anyway.:)
Mousekeeping was good the entire time...no complaints...didn't get towel animals until the last 2 days. So that kind of confirms that you don't get the same mousekeeper every day. Those same days she arranged my son's stuffed animals on the beds...so cute.

Love CSR...it is just so beautiful & peaceful...very relaxing resort!

Ate at Pepper Market several times. The CMs at the front station that makes Spanish food, omelettes in am, Chef's specials were friendly. So were the cm's at the Grill Station & Bakery Section. Just wanted to mention that as before I left I had read comments that CM's in PM were nasty. The CM's at the PIzza & Pasta Stations, however, had horrible attitudes. They did not smile at all & it seemed as if the customers were "bothering" them by ordering food. So I guess it just depends on the CM's who are working. Our food was delicious & sometimes you had to wait awhile, but that is because most of it is made fresh when you order it. Will have to post some food photos later. Southwestern Omelette, Pasta w/ Shrimp in Alfredo Sauce, Chicken Quesadillas, were great. Thought there could have been more dessert choices though.

My one complaint about CSR is the small amount of items that count as a snack credit on the Dining Plan. You can get so many more things for a snack credit in the parks & at other resorts than you can at CSR. It was very annoying...same thing last yr. For example, a muffin or big cookie were snack credits, but a croissant or piece of cake were NOT.

Spent time at the Dig Site, which was great as usual. Something new this trip at the Dig Site were activities near the pool run by 2 of the Lifeguards. They had music playing & ran games for the kids. Showed them group dance moves, hula hoop contest, musical stars, swim race. They were announcing b-days & anniv. Even more of a fun atmosphere by the pool! A Ping Pong Table has also been added to the pool area near the snack bar as well as a giant checkers game rt. near it.

Sorry this turned out to be so long...love CSR...my dh & I say it's the best kept secret in WDW!!

Forgot to mention another slight problem we had which happened 2 yrs ago as well: Our refrigerator did not work well. We discovered this when we woke up our 1st morning. Called Mousekeeping & they were nice but told us they are not really refrigerators, they are "coolers". This got me mad & was the same excuse we were told 2 yrs ago when we had the problem. Disney should not say the moderates have refrigerators if they don't all keep items cold enough. Anyway, she told us to change the setting to 3 I think & if it wasn't cold in 15 min. to call back. Well I waited almost 30 min. & of course it wasn't cold. The person I spoke to was very nice & sent a CM to us with a new refrigerator which did work. So it all worked out & they responded promptly to the problem.

You will have a incidents of good and bad whereever you go. It just goes with the territory. If this was a perfect world everything would be on par and spot on but it isn't.

I'm excited to see and stay at this resort. I just remember passing by it couple years ago as we traveled to the parks from ASMo.

Good to know. We need a fridge. We will have two toddlers who need milk in the morning.

Absolutely right! I just like to point out that even though there were a couple of minor glitches, CSR is still my favorite moderate. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!!! I also don't like when an unrealistic picture of a resort is painted, then people expect perfection & are disappointed when they don't get it.

Have a great time...I'm sure you will love CSR too!!
