I had to switch my reservations from CBR to CSR yesterday in order to get the discount...I was really bummed about it, but now after reading this, I am thinking that I lucked out!! I'm loving the idea of queen beds!!:cool1:

One question though... how does the pool compare to CBR's? We stayed there 2 years ago after it was all redone and my girls loved it. Is CSR's main pool just as good? The kiddie pool looks a little drab, but my girls are older anyway...although they did enjoy the pirate kiddie pool at CBR. :)

TIA!

Include the building you want to be in. ;) I always add a little note indicating how much we are looking forward to our stay at the CSR. Other than that, you've got it covered.

Thanks! My wife pointed out to me that since we are using an agent this go 'round, we should have her do it. Which we have done. Or hopefully she has done by now.

I really wish we could take advantage of these new rates and am trying to figure out a way to make it happen.

So excited!!!! DH and I will be at CSR 11/10-11/14. We were blocked out of the free dining offer, but I was able to get a room only discount. We will use the money we saved to get tickets for MVMCP!:yay:

We have never been to CSR, and I am really looking forward to it. The pictures of the resort look beautiful! I requested Casitas. Was that a good choice?

Casitas is a GREAT choice! :thumbsup2
...... anywhere at CSR is fantastic!
We've stayed in all 3 and Casistas is our favorite with Ranchos a close second! Cabanas is our least favorite because it feels too much like Caribbean Beach.

You will love it there!!!!!!!:thumbsup2

We have 22 days!!!:cool1::cool1:
This will be our first trip to CSR. I am very excited.
I am not sure what section we want. I actually was
very general with my TA about it. I just said close to a private
pool and close to a bus stop! ;)

I haven't stayed at CBR, but I can tell you that the pool at CSR is wonderful. The Jaguar slide is one of the longest of all the resorts. It's beautiful and a lot of fun.

Anyone been able to book a room late Oct/early Nov 2010? Seems like there is a conference or something could not get any rooms at CSR during that timeframe.

We're booked at CSR for Oct. 28-Nov. 6 (and got free dining!); we booked it the second week of July. I'm not sure what's going on at CSR during that time.

OK, I know I'm on the CSR thread, but . . .

Can anyone compare CSR and POR for me? I'm booked at POR (never stayed there), stayed at CSR in a non-rehabbed room and loved it, and now second-guessing myself! CSR will be about $100 more than POR with the new AP rates that came out.

ARRRRGGGHH!!!

HELP!

We've stayed at both and loved both. We're sticking with CSR because the theme feels more "vacationy" to us.

Okay, I've never been to CSR and am a bit nervous about our February stay. I have a couple questions and I figured this would be the place to ask. We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids (10 and 13). They do like swimming so I'm hoping earlier posts I read about the pool not being heated is not correct. Can anyone confirm that? Also, my kids are allergic to feathers and can not have down comforters. I'm wondering if those beautiful bed coverings are in fact down? Does anyone know that? One more question: does the counter service have a good selection for older kids? They'd be happy with chicken tenders and fries but they no longer eat off the kids menu. Thanks a bunch!!! I really appreciate any help! It's all so overwhelming. :)

All Disney pools are heated. No worries. It may be a bit cool coming out, though!

Highly doubtful. That would be very expensive.

Yes.

We just booked our 1st visit to CSR after not being able to get WLV thru DVC. I've been looking at the opening post of this thread and am a bit confused over the bus schedual. It sounds like you have to take one bus to and from the main building, then another to get to the parks or DD. Is this so, or am I reading it wrong?

We will also be going to MNSSHP for the 1st time and any suggestion on events will be appreciated.

Lastly, does anyone know if there is an extra fee to see the concerts at the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot?

Thanks in advance.

You're reading it wrong. Once you're on a bus, you're on the bus. The only issue is the order of the bus stops.

There are 4 bus stops.
#1 - El Centro
#2 - Casitas
#3 - Ranchos
#4 - Cabanas

The order of the busses:
Going to and from the parks: #2, #3, #4, #1
Going to and from Downtown Disney: #1, #2, #3, #4.

So let's say you want to take a bus from El Centro back to the Ranchos. You would have to get on a Downtown Disney bus. If you wanted to go to a park from El Centro, let's say after breakfast, you would get on the bus at stop #1, realizing that the bus may already be crowded because it's the last stop.

Does this help?

Woohoo....I booked our family vacation to CSR with free dining for Aug 2011...yes, I know it's a year away but I'm heading to Pop in 49 days with DS7! DH agreed to a family vaca for next year and we are looking forward to staying at CSR...it's our first time there and I think it looks beautiful! I found other threads that had negative things to say about the "convention" aspect and didn't have a family feel to it. Glad I found this thread with tons of info and people who loved it! :yay:

TA called and spoke with housekeeping and they said they are in fact down. They said they could "switch them out" for us but I'd hate to have the old dingy comforters on the beds when we checked in. :scared1: Just wanted to update!

We're headed to CSR in 3 weeks
We just got our disne package with our luggage tags and all that stuff, but the hotel information states that the beds are double instead of queen. Is this just and old booklet or are only some of the beds queen?

Hi,

All the beds at CSR are queens except for the king rooms. We were there last year after the refurb and we are headed back in 18 days. Have a nice trip.

That must be an old booklet because all the CSR's beds are either Queen beds or a King if there is just one in the room. We too loved the fact that CSR offered Queen beds. It's the main reason why we chose that hotel over all the other moderates. Enjoy your vacation!

On the one hand, I'm sorry it's a problem for your kids. On the other hand, I'm glad to know they're down, for all of us non-allergic folks!
