I even had to re-register but that's ok. This site is worth all the info. Any comments on Coral World and Coki Beach with 2 2-yr olds and 2 4-yr olds? Anyone stay in cabin 7080/82? Who is Shirley (I know she does baskets but I'd like more info)? I welcome any and all advice. Thanks. Twincerely, Kathy

Kathy, I can tell you about Coki Beach, we loved it and plan to go again on our next cruise in 2003. We took a taxi there and rented snorkeling equipment, a waist float for my 9 yr. old daugher to use while snorkeling (she is an ok swimmer, but we thought she may get tired out there), lounge chairs and an umbrella. The sand is wonderfully white and soft and the water is beautiful. Blue and clear and very calm. It is like a very large pool! There are a ton of fish for the kids to see in the water, and they even gave us dog biscuits to feed the fish. My kids are a bit older than yours ( 9 & 11), but we saw many children of all ages there. It was wonderful!!

Kathy....we stayed on the Wonder (Jan2000) in room 7080!! MIL and FIL were in 7082 and SIL in 7078.....We loved the location sooo much that we are booked on the Magic 7 day March 16 with the same rooms.

The rooms on the Wonder and Magic are supposedly identical.....except for the pictures on the wall I believe....

You will love the location!!! Also with us is our 2 DD's ages 6-8 (at the time of our 3-16 cruise)

Check out www.coralworldvi.com. It looks like you could do this excursion on your own for less $29 per adult vs $35, $22 per child vs. $25) if you take a taxi and use the coupon they have on-line. Plus you'd be able to come and go when you wanted to instead of being on a tour. Coral World is right next to Coki Beach so you could do both.

I'll try to answer your question about Shirley. She owns The Perfect Gift which does gift baskets that are in your cabin when you get there. Her web site is www.theperfectgift.cc note that is cc not com, If you don't see anything there that you like just give her a call at the 800 # and she will custom make a basket for you. She did 2 for my DD(11) and DS(15) in June and they both really liked them. DS's had all the things he like(drinks, snacks, etc.) he just wanted to know how they knew what he liked!! She is just great. Give her a call and the prices are really reasonable.

First I would like to take the time to sincerely thank everyone in the part that they played in order to getting this Disboard on line again - Did not realize how much I enjoyed it until it was not there - You learn alot in all aspects, but most of all you miss the friends made in the past.
Now - Kathy I have the Shop called The Perfect Gift - We have a gift basket and floral business here - but for your information we are here also as a safe port away from home. Norm, my husband, and I try to help in anyway that we can if anyone runs into any problems here - this way noone is left to flounder alone without someone that they can turn to and find answers for problems faced in a strange town. We are nice people and there are no strings attached for our help.
Anyhow have a wonderful time when it comes to your day of cruising.
Always,
Shirley

Hi Kathy and welcome to DIS! We didn't stay in 7080 but did stay in 7070 on our first cruise and it was wonderful! We had a great view from our verandah of the ship docking in ports but didn't see the leaving bit as we were up on deck! Didn't notice any movement at all in the stateroom.

We went to Coki Beach last trip (Aug 01) and it is FAB! No beach hawkers to bother us, got two loungers, an umbrella for $10. There's a beach bar and snack bar and the beach slopes gently so all ages can enjoy the water (but bring water shoes coz it's a bit sharp getting into the water!). It's a great spot for little ones!

I haven't used Shirley's Perfect Gift but think I might be giving her a call when we do the Western itinerary in Aug!

Have a wonderful time!

Thank you all so much for the inside scoop. We are cruising 2/2/02 and cannot wait. We will be in Ft. Wilderness in my ILs motor home for the 3 nights prior so I'm taking my notes from the DIS to study while in WDW.

Coki beach is a true paradise. We sailed the 7 day in October and had brought snorkel gear for our kids (DD-10, DS-7). I would do it again, aside from the cost savings, they are not using rented mouth pieces shared by many. They got to use their own snorkel gear at Castaway Cay and at Coki Beach.

If you like beaches, Coki is definitely a must. We also rented wave runners across the street and had a great time there--all day!!!
