What is this? Is it under the water (looks like it from the pictures)? If so, is it claustrophic down there? Have 6 and 9 year old DSs.

Coral World is a really nice aquarium in St. Thomas. There are a number of different buildings and one that jets out into the bay and has underwater viewing windows. We didn't find it claustrophic at all.

I think your sons would enjoy it as they have touch pools and a number of feedings they can see.

Coki Beach is right next store if you want to spend some time at the beach. There are lockers and showers on the Coral World grounds.

I didn't feel claustrophopic either. I liked Coral World. DD and I got on one of the open taxis at the port and rode to Coli Beach and Coral World. Very easy to do. Coming back we took a van taxi with AC and seatbelts. Loved Coki--great for kids--very gentle waves and the little fish that come up to you.

I think your kids would love Coral World with the touch pools, etc.

Here are a few photos of Coral World:

It was fun; we also got a quick island tour of St. Thomas.

Coral World is just find for little kids, not sure I'd call it a "really nice" aquarium. Don't want folks to expect a Monterey Bay Aquarium type set up.

Our familly has visited St. Thomas 3 times and always stop at Coral World. It's a really nice place, and is a doable size without making everyone crazy trying to get from Point A to Point B, etc. All the feeding times are nicely spaced, and it's never been so crowded as to be unpleasant.

My ds (13 at the time) and I did the sea-trekking last time and enjoyed it very much.

Thanks for all the replies. Myself and two boys are leaving Thursday for 10 days to visit husband who has been down there working working at a hospital.

You guys were right. My boys loved it and then spent the rest of the day at Coki Beach. Going to Trunk Bay at St. John today. :cool1:
