Just made a ps to have lunch here, would like any feed back on this restaurant. How was the food, what does anyone recommend to try..thanks for the help.

Coral Reef is a good one to try for the experience, but it's not on my 'must go back' list. We thought the food was just ok, but I do have to give a disclaimer that my DH grew up near the coast and is use to GOOD seafood. The aquarium was neat, though.

We love the Coral Reef. The food is good and the atmosphere is wonderful. I highly recommend the lobster bisque! YUMMY!!!!

They made us wait forever even though we had a PS. We were the last table seated for the night and were too far away to see the tank.

The food was okay, but too pepperry in my opinion (I had the Swordfish, DH the tuna). And it was pretty expensive.

But the waitress was the most wonderful waitress I ever had. She knew that I was not happy, that I had had a long day, and went out of her way to take care of me and my kids (so that I could eat). Even took my DD over for a better look at the fish.

We tipped her very well.

We ate there last year, and the atmosphere is great. We got there early and I asked for a seat by the tank. We were lucky and got one right next to the tank. Very fun! We also had excellent service.

The food was just okay. That said there were two standouts! My salad was very fresh - lettuce from The Land and the dessert was the best dessert I had all week. It was the Chocolate Wave. We would go back and I would get a salad, the bisque (I've heard great things but didn't try), and the Chocolate Wave.

Enjoy! It really is a neat place.

I had the bisque and it was the highlight of my meal. I can't really remember what else I had....of course, this was over a year ago. But, I did like that soup!!!!:hyper:

Also had the bisque, Great! Menu is limited but they will alter the plate, i.e. potatoes instead of the pasta on the salmon. I have always wanted to eat here and would go back. Atmosphere was wonderful, the divers waved from the tank! and the service was excellent.

Loved watching the fish swim by....kept my kids entertained. The lobster bisque is quite good and the chocolate wave was wonderful!! My husband got a steak and liked it too. I think I had salmon but can't really remember the entree. After Artist Point's salmon there is no other. Good choice but pricey, but then the tank is free entertainment. Service was very good also.

Food was expensive I remember us sharing apps and salads, it was very good though and the kids got to play with peanut butter playdough for dessert::MickeyMo

I also just made a lunch PS for Coral Reef because my DD wanted to eat there -- for the view. She's not much of a seafood person though. I saw someone mention steak. What other non-seafood items are on the menu -- especially for a kid. (I love seafood, so expect to be very happy there.)

My two year old ate nothing but chicken fingers and french fries almost the entire trip, so I'm sure they had them at Coral Reef. The kid's menu is basic stuff that you usually see for kids.

I kept the Kids menu. (I brought home way to much "stuff" )

they had a "Triton's Pasta" 4.99 there were 2 sauce selections, Marinara and Alfredo but we had ours plain. The portion was huge, we took 3/4 home and ate it for several other meals.
Cheese Pizza 4.99
Grilled Chicken Breast 7.99 w/ mashed potatoes and Green Beans
Grilled Mahi 8.99 w/ mashed potatoes and Green Beans
Illuma Beverage Blue Whale 5.25 (with a glowing ice cube)
Peanut Butter Playdough 2.50
The Shipwreck (Choc. Pnut Butter, Grahm Crackers) 4.75
Build you own sundae 5.25

I did not ask for any other items, DD is on a noodle kick anyway so she was happy.

I wouldn't do Coral Reef again.

We had a medium sized party (6 people), so what that means is there were too many of us to get a seat by the tank. We were against the back wall which was very dissapointing.

It was also loud-very loud. Our waiter said they refurbished the resaurant a while a go and the walls now absorbed less noise:confused: . There was a loud party next to us, and we couldn't even talk to each other because no one could hear anything.

I thought the food was great (I love seafood), but I would only go there again if it were just my husband and I alone.

Sorry to rain on your planning parade, but I wanted to be honest.

Thanks to all the replys, it will just be myself and my husband on this trip so seating shouldn't be as hard. As far as the noise goes, our 2 year old grandson lives with us and I do day care so noise is not a problem either. In fact it seems strange not to eat a meal without all the noise!
