Coral Reef or Teppan Edo for Lunch?

By the way, my family doesn't eat fish.

DD4 and DS will be almost 1, looking for good food and great atmosphere.

I've looked at both menus and it seems we will be able to get non-fishy food at both places.

What are your experiences at these restaurants? Which would be better with kids?

Any other recommendations would also be appreciated. We're already going to Le Cellier, Garden Grill, we're canceling Akershus (been there a few times, seeing the same princesses at CRT), and we don't want to go back to San Angel Inn.

And is it worth (subjective, I know) going to these restaurants if we don't eat seafood?

We've never done Teppan Edo, planning for next trip. We had a less than stellar experience at Coral Reef though. We did get a table right in front of the aquarium glass which was great, but the food was not great, even the kids picked at pizza and kids fare. Although the chocolate wave dessert was fabulous, and I liked it so much I might sit through the first part of the meal just for it! They also have a kids menu/coloring page with all the different fish to identify in the tank. Have fun on your trip!

I think the atmosphere at Coral Reef, especially for lunch, is equal to none. You come in from the bright sunshine into this dark cool underwater theme. And the tank is amazing. We have lunch here every trip.

Disclaimer: I have not found any non-fish items to eat at Coral Reef that I thought were very good. I love fish but there are some in my group who do not. Their food has not been as good as the fish entrees are. The only non-fish dish that has been decent here was the ceasar salad.

I think your children would enjoy the atmosphere at Coral Reef more but you might find the food at Teppan Edo more to your liking. What a tough choice. Have a great vacation.

This is what I was worried about, going to a "Seafood Restaurant" and ordering a non-seafood item, usually not the best on the menu. Decisions, decisions! Thanks for the input!

We ate at both on our last trip. I would choose Coral Reef. We both ordered steak and it was actually one of the better steaks that we had a Disney. We eat at our local Japanese restaurants frequently and found that the food at Teppan Edo was not to our liking. It seemed very bland.

I dont eat seafood and I LOVED Teppan Edo! :) we're debating actually between Coral Reef and and Tokyo Dining for lunch when we go in 2 weeks. I'm hoping we choose Tokyo!
