I know I have read lately that Rose and Crown has gotten some bad write-ups. I went there back in 2008 and haven't returned since. I've never been to Coral Reef and heard that the atmosphere is very good but the food is so so. Just looking for opinions for both of these restaurants.

I agree w/ Hopefully. I like Rose & Crown better. I haven't been to R&C since the menu change, but I will miss the steak! I thought Corral Reef wasn't good the one time I went there and it kinda smelled musty and old. It needs a refurb.

Depends on what type of food you enjoy. The menu at Rose & Crown is unappealing to me. Not my style of enjoyable foods! We've always had great food and excellent service at Coral Reef. The panoramic aquarium to view while dining is unique.

No matter which restaurant you mention on these forums there will be some that say great, others that say no way. What everyone likes and dislikes is different. I'm from the southwest and not much for English, mid-west and most southern foods. But thats just me! Overall the reviews are about the same for both. Some like it, some don't.

My wife and I love Rose & Crown. We were last there October 2017. I just looked on AllEars at their copy of the menu which was updated July 2018 and the menu listed is the same as it was in October 2017. We typically order the Cheese Platter followed by Fish & Chips or Welsh Pub Burger or Pan-roasted Scottish Salmon and we have NEVER been disappointed.

As for Coral Reef, I would agree with your assessment. The atmosphere is great. I mean to sit, eat, and talk while watching the fish in the tank is pretty awesome but the food didn't match that atmosphere. We were there also in October 2017. This was our first time there and the food was just good but I doubt we will be going back as we think there is better food around Epcot and on property.

If those were the two choices I had to pick from, I would pick Rose & Crown every time!

Those are my two choices for one of the table service I plan on doing. The one that I really want to go to is Nine Dragons and I do plan on going there next trip. I think the other table service quite possibly would look at besides the two already mentioned would be via napoli. I ate there a few years back in the pizza was very good but I'm just not sure paying 20 plus dollars for a pizza is worth it.

We had a great time at Rose & Crown last week. The burger was great (I’m a fish & chips fan normally) and the lemon scone dessert was luscious. Great service too. We like Coral Reef, but haven’t been there in a while.

The burger is what caught my eye. It looks very delicious and I think that's the only thing I would order on their menu. As far as coral reef I would probably order the steak but I've heard mixed reviews about it that it can be a little fatty.

We just haven't eaten at Nine Dragons because for us, there are too many good restaurants around Epcot to eat at and just haven't tried it yet so no opinion there. As for Via Napoli, we probably won't ever eat there (okay maybe once just to "check it off" that we did) because I make homemade pizza dough that we think is really good and my wife makes homemade pasta and sauce that is better than most restaurants we have tried. I also agree (and for us) that paying $20 or more for a pizza is outrageous.

LOL...I had to laugh about going to a seafood place to order steaks. I know it is on the menu because not everyone likes seafood. But if you are thinking about going to Coral Reef to order steak, I think there is better steak choices elsewhere in Epcot and also very good steaks elsewhere throughout the property than going to a seafood place to order steak.

As far as your post, I would recommend Rose & Crown.

As far as a steak place, if you are talking about staying in Epcot, then Le Cellier. I think they have very good steak and well seasoned. According to most people (including cast members), the two steakhouses with the best reputation are Le Cellier and Yachtsman but we also love Artist Point. If my wife and I are going to WDW for a week long (or more) vacation then we plan to eat at both Le Cellier and Artist Point!!

Planning to eat at AP, this trip. Might consider Le Cellier. Hear mixed reviews

Food and service have been reliably good for us at R&C. It's also no secret that the food at Coral Reef is generally average at best, but then people are typically there for the view. CR is one of those places I think people should do at least once.

LOL...I agree with you about CR and feel the same way you do about CR as I do about CG. I feel people go to CG for the view but the food average at best. I feel people enjoy the view of the fireworks so much that they use that to overshadow their experience and the average food.

Well I ate at both Rose & Crown and Coral Reef in early June. R&C used to be our go to Epcot restaurant. I normally give a place 3 strikes before dropping it from out list but my girls have said never ever again. Cold food, tough food and a waitress who waited on a heavily drinking table like she was related to them while ignoring us was enough. I went into Coral Reef not expecting much and was very surprised. The waitress was 1st rate and kept checking on us and the food was good. And the atmosphere was incredible.

The menu at Rose and Crown doesn't interest us much. At Coral Reef the quality of the various entrees vary greatly and I think that is part of the issue. We've had consistently good "Chef's sustainable catch", Mahi Mahi, and strip steak at Coral Reef and if you can score a booth up by the aquarium the view is awesome.

However I see they replaced the strip steak with a lower quality of beef, sirloin. I like sirloin but you need to cook it properly and it doesn't handle anything past medium rare very well without tasting dry.
