Hi all,

I have a dinner reservation for our trip in May for Coral Reef, i was talking to a mother at my sons school today and she said i should change it to Ohana. She also said it was fun for the kids. I have never eaten at either one and i dont want to change any other adr that i have, so should i switch to Ohana instead of Coral Reef? I know its not a character dinner so do they have fun activities for kids or something? I have 2 boys ages 3 & 5. Thanks for any info. :goodvibes

Foodwise they are both kinda ick but for kids they will enjoy either one.

Ohana is very loud and rowdy since everyone gets up from their tables and run around the restaurant

I really like Coral Reef. We were there last week, had a nice meal and the giant sea turtle was staring at us for most of our meal :thumbsup2
O'hana's is a fun place but I found the food pretty "blah" , the meat was dry & leathery, everything else was just okay.

Ohana!

I have never been to Coral Reef, I must admit, but my whole family loves Ohana. We loved the food, and you can't beat the castle view. My kids are 7 and 2. They really like the dumplings, chicken wings and especially the lo mein. It is served family style, so you can get as much as you want. My husband and father in law loved the huge skewers of beef, chicken and shrimp they brought around. My mother in law and I loved the bread pudding. They play games with the kids about ever 30 minutes. That works great for us because the kids attention spam lasted longer so the grown ups had more time to eat! We hate to leave, its always so good.

Ohana is by far our favorite WDW restaurant. It is a must for us on each trip.

We love Coral Reef. We have never had a bad meal there. We also like to watch the fish and turtles and sometimes they have people scuba diving.

I would definitely vote 'Ohana. The food is great, and it's very fun for kids. DS has it on his list as the first restaurant to eat at on our trip, and he's campaigning for a second meal there as well.

It was not "fun" but my kids loved eating in front of the tanks at Coral Reef. And DH and I enjoyed our meals more at CR.

I love both!

For kids both are good. Coral Reef has the HUGE fish tank and they'll be busy watching the fish/sharks/turtles swim by rather than eat probably!

O'Hanas is very entertaining as well for adults and kids. The view is amazing outside the Polynesian...however the food might not be kid friendly. Shrimp *unpeeled*, steak, pork, dumplings, etc... Depends on how picky your kid is I'd choose Ohanas

Ohanas can get very very very busy, so book early!!!

Coral Reef. :fish:
We have had many meals there with our kids (now 7 & 8 ) and we all have enjoyed it. The only downside is that service can be a bit slow.
Ohana - I guess it would be more *fun* for kids in terms of the things they do..coconut races...etc.. But we found the food to be terrible and the service was not great at all.

Kids can also get typical kid fare if you ask.

All of the above served with French fries. Includes tea and soda. - $14.99 *

Coral Reef definitely. Very enjoyable to watch the aquarium from our table... food is better quality than Ohana, and I'd rather pick what I want from a menu instead of being stuck with Ohana's limited menu. I reviewed both from my Dec. 2010 trip (link below).
