I just got off the phone with MS and changed our September stay to include 3 nights in a Studio (Walk in Shower!) at CCV. I asked if there was a separate designation when reserving the "alternate" studio, which had previously been shown in floor plans released in Feb/Mar of this year. She didn't show anything in her files about those studios, so I was curious if anyone knew if they had been scrapped.

I don't think they have been scrapped, but they are not a separate booking category, so I am not surprised that MS doesn't have anything in their files about them.

Ah ok. Thanks for that. I would think they would be somewhere in their files as a floor plan, since its pretty different than the rest of the studios. IMO they look like a great change from the norm.

I was on the phone yesterday with MS, they offered me both the walk-in shower studio or the tub/shower studio as options for a room I was trying to book at CCV.

Yes, those are the two booking categories for CCV studios. The alternate studios are larger than the norm - they appear to have a kitchenette like a studio, but unlike the studios, they have a sleeping area that is separate from the living room. I do not know whether the alternate studio bathrooms have a tub/shower combo or a walk-in shower. Once the resort opens and we have more reports / room numbers, I'm sure the alternate studios will be a popular request.

It's like the corner standard 1 bedroom at BWV that is laid out differently and has more room. They don't advertise it, there are only 3 of them.

From what I've read, the alternate studios are former junior suites and are actually part of 2 bedroom lockoffs.

I asked Ken Potrock about the alternate studios during the MK party. He called over another DVC exec & they told me that it will be the "luck of the draw" as to whether or not you get one. It will not be a booking category.

Considering that they give you the choice of studio vs studio with walk in shower, I would bet that when you book a dvc studio with a walk in shower, they will give you what you book.

I am surprised they did not use the extra space to make these HC accessible studios. Extra space always is helpful with a wheelchair or other assistance equipment. Clearly this are not that of course, looking at the layout.

We got an odd corner type room once at BR, years ago, it was a 2BR that had more space. I believe it was near the lobby opening directly below, but was an upper floor in my case. With 4 kids, 6 in total, that extra room was nice.

We went Copper Creek due to proximity to restaurants and boat transportation, room decor, and the fact that it's in the main building. We'll be there just before Christmas so we wanted to be in the main building with the tree and decor.
