I still have a bit until our trip, but I want to try and coordinate our time in Galaxy's edge and I wonder if anyone else has been able to do this successfully.

so we actually plan to build light sabers for the kids in tomorrow land. Just can't swollow that $220 price..

So after we build them in tomorrow land I want to head to GE..

we plan to build droid, have lunch, maybe visit the cantina, and ride smugglers and Rise.
I can of course coordinate the Droid and ogas..but the rides are the wild card. We will have Genie+ and plan to buy the LL for rise..

I was thinking we would rope drop Disneyland and do a few rides and then go build the light sabers in tomorrow land around 10-11 and then head to GE..

How fast are rise LL's going? Will I be able to watch the times? What about smugglers?

thanks in advance!

When is your trip?

We went at the end of January on a Sunday and it did not feel super busy early. Standby times for ROTR got up to 80 minutes around noon, Smugglers was like 30, getting busier after 11. We did LL for both around noon and it was immediate boarding for Smugglers and 15 minutes for ROTR. Both took about 15 minutes to get on once we were in line. When you go/what day of the week will play into your wait times.

You can definitely watch the Rise LL times as well as the G+ LL times from the app. The only enemy of your plan is unexpected attraction downtime. Is this your family's first time to GE? I like the idea of building sabers in Tomorrowland and hitting StarTours before heading over to GE.

We're going in April and plan to rope drop DL and do all the not-GE stuff, take a break back at the hotel, then kick off our visit to GE with a Cantina Reservation at 3:50. After that we'll ride MFSR with a G+ LL, Then do some shopping and roaming (some folks going with us have not been to GE yet, so I wanted to allow some time for that), Have dinner at Blue Bayou at 6pm, then head back to GE to ride ROTR standby around 7:30 (Can't do the ILL for 7 people, so hoping hitting it in the evening will give us a shorter wait under an hour), then do a lightsaber build for my youngest(13) at 9:30pm before we grab snacks and dessert, maybe ride MFSR stand by, and then head out of the park to get some rest before our next park day...

I've been GE in Disneyland once and WDW 2x.. but it was without the kiddos. The focus for this will be on them. Wanna make a big deal of it and they will wear costumes too, I am sure. Really looking forward to smugglers together as a family, hoping my son and husband can pilot.

we watched mandalorian together as a family, just finished boba fett together and we watched all the star wars movies in chronological order over Christmas!

You can request pilot at the assignment point - you might have to wait an extra group or two, but they'll make it happen for you.

I might be in the minority but I would skip Oga’s Cantina with kids (I have no desire to go back myself as an adult). I wasn’t very impressed with the theme and there are limited options for kids. The Blue Bantha Milk is nowhere near as good as the Blue Milk outside at the Milk Stand. I heard the adult drinks are good but not worth it to me. I like the theming and atmosphere at Docking Bay 7 better. The atmosphere that is so cool about the bars in Star Wars has always been all of the aliens. There is none of this at Oga’s, and even the alien band is replaced by a droid DJ. It is kind of cool that they took the droid from Star Tours, but he doesn’t do anything interactive or funny. To me the experience is lacking and not worth the planning and park time.

I mean, Oga's is a nice place to just sit for a bit while having a drink and talking about how the day is going before heading off to the rides or alternatively to relax after the rides and going to another part of the Parks. I wouldn't skip it, the ambience is everything there.

thank you! I've been to Oga's a few times but without the kids and I was deff on the fence about it.

You can always play Oga's by ear - they now have a walk-up list you can get onto via the app, so you could also just see how folks are feeling about it day of and get on the list if you're feeling it.

Sorry I can't help you with your question, but I was wondering about building a light saber in Tomorrowland? We are going to be in Disneyland on my son's birthday and he would love to build a light saber but we also decided $200 was way too much for that.

Star Trader in Tomorrowland has a saber building station with plastic parts for like $30 - $45. There isn't a show or anything, just bins of parts from which you assemble your saber, but still a cool thing to do. My son still has the one he built back when he was 8.

Thank you! Maybe we will do that on his birthday instead! He wants to be able to play/fight with his light saber and I said there was no way he way doing that with a $200 one!!!

Yes! We have them from other trips .. they also travel a lot easier as they fold and come apart. Here is a picture of my son with his he built in 201830C5B708-0E41-40EA-8414-3CD1CEA50C96.jpeg
