Cooking question from a less than experienced cook...

Is wheat germ the same as wheat bran? I'm taking on low-fat muffins and it calls for the wheat bran, but the best I can do is wheat germ...don't know if it's a good substitute.

I don't think so. Wheat Bran would be more like flour compared to wheat germ.

Maybe someone else knows better though.
