I want to make shrimp, and I remember seeing Alton Brown do a recipe on Foodnetwork that looked really good. He oven roasted the shrimp with a little olive oil, and I liked that idea better than pan frying. I hadn't planned on it, but when I looked up the recipe, he put the shrimp in a brine for 20-25 minutes. Here is the brine recipe...
1/4 c kosher salt
1/4 c sugar
1 c water
2 c ice
So my question is - will that add a whole bunch more calories and sodium? I don't know how to figure out home much the little shrimp will suck up!
TIA!
ETA - I'm not worried about the nutrition info on the shrimp, I can do that on my own, its just the brine.
