I am trying a new recipe that calls for fresh oregano. Unfortunately, there was no fresh available at the grocery store (they had everything else!!)

Does anyone know the dried equilivant for fresh oregano?

Thanks for the help DISers! I am trying a crock-pot eggplant & artichoke parm. for dinner tonight.

Fresh oregano has more flavor, but I would still use one to one on the measurements. You can always add more.

My Better Homes and Gardens cookbook says 1/2 to 1 tsp dried and crushed to 1 Tbsp snipped fresh herbs.

Sounds like an interesting casserole!

Trust me - I would use it if I could find it!

It is a Cooking Light recipe. I am excited about it...although, honestly, I haven't had much luck with the CL Crock Pot recipes I have tried. I will let you know how it turns out!

Thanks for the equilivants. I knew they were out there...
