Wow, they're expensive. Has anyone ordered from them before?

I'd like to get something delivered to AKL during our upcoming trip for my DH's birthday. I've ordered from Feralpeg before, but I understand she's not making gift boxes anymore. I checked the Disney Florist and the only thing I saw that I liked was a 'birthday cake' made of candy bars and filled with other snacks like packs of pretzels and gummies. It was almost $60 and had, I think, 15 candy bars around the outside, filled with the other goodies, wrapped in cellophane with a bow. Then I saw the Cookies by Design site. They have amazing looking Disney cookie baskets but they're not exactly easy on the budget. Are they worth it, I'm wondering? What do they look like when delivered? Will they look pretty when delivered, like they look on the site and just in cellophane, or like Peggy's gift boxes? Or will they be in a cardboard box or something?

Thanks for any help/advice!

Their product is excellent, and that would be a good way to guarantee some late-night snacks while there!

We received a "bouquet" of cookies from them as a gift from MAW foundation for my DS's trip and they were HUGE and very, very rich. I can't remember exactly how they were packaged, I know they were wrapped in cellophane and were on sticks stuck in styrofoam, so they looked like a bouquet of flowers. The ones they got us were various characters like Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy. My kids were really impressed with them as soon as they saw them.

I am a labor and delivery nurse and we would get several of these for new babies at the hospital. They were always beautiful. Often the families would give some to us or we received a bouquet as a thank you--they are also delicious. I know when I had seen them before I had wondered if they tasted as good as they looked or if they were just pretty. I have had ginger bread and sugar cookie kinds. I have to say the gingerbread was really good.

Thank you! Price-wise they're close...I think I paid around $70 or more when I got my gift basket from Peggy and it was beautiful, filled with candy anda Disney plush and an antenna topper, well worth the money...but no longer an option. The Disney Florist 'cake' out of candy bars looks cute, but small. I kind of wanted something that says "WOW" when you see it. :teeth:

So, do you think the one with 7 cookies would be "WOW" enough? I think it was over $60 not including shipping or anything. I was just concerned that while it looks great on the site (very colorful) that it would look small in person. If each cookie is rather large though, then that would be different. They look as if they're very nicely decorated.

Believe it or not, I never even thought about how they might taste, lol. Happy to hear they taste good.

I used them in the past for a cookie bouquet for my kids at WDW and it was beautiful and the cookies were yummy.. I would recommend..

I've ordered them a bunch of times for various occasions. The cookies are very large (maybe 6-7" tall). They are arranged like flower boquets as shown on the site, and they are delivered covered in celephane and maybe with a cardboard box at the bottom to stabilize the "flower pot". They definitely make a good first impression upon delivery. I think the taste is pretty good (certainly kids would love them; adults would probably thing they're pretty good), but I think the real appeal is in the uniqueness of the presentation and not really in the taste of the cookies. If the food itself is the priority, I'm sure you can get a much tastier treat elsewhere for that amount of money. But again, if you're looking for something with a cool presentation and something different than flowers, they're pretty cool.

While they look good, boy they are expensive. Try www.cookiecottage.com they are out of Fort Wayne, Indiana but will ship to WDW. The cookies are to die for! They also do screen printed cookies that are awesome. They use a sugar cookie and then screen print any photo onto the cookies. My sister works for a radio station and they usually present a basket of screen printed cookies to any artist that plays in town. It usually has the artists photo and the radio station logo. I wish I had a pic of them to show you, as they go over sooo well and at $20 a dozen are much more affordable! They also have 24 varieties of regular cookies to choose from.Darn it! Now I want a cookie!

I received these after the birth of DD#2 and they were so delicious. I would highly recommend them in terms of both presentation and taste.

Love them! We have received them a few times and given them too. The cookies are so, so good. I hinted to DH that I would rather have these than flowers when dd#2 arrives in a few weeks. ;) The Disney ones are especially cute. Around here, a bouquet of 5 cookies in a container is under $40.

Although it was ~ 6 years ago, I used Cookies by Design while in WDW. My son and I were on a "mom and me" trip, celebrating his accomplishment of getting straight A's all year :cool1: (sidenote brag, since then he has continued to get straight A's  , crossing my fingers for scholarships for college in a few years ::yes:: ). The cookies were incredible. Not only were they beautiful, but they tasted so good. Almost like a rich shortbread. I know the price is a little steep, but they will make an impression for sure!

Thes cookies are not only cute, but taste good! My friend sent them to me after both my girls were born. Everyone loved them!

Okay, you all convinced me, I ordered!

I showed the one I was looking at (Mickey and Minnie Birthday) to my DD, she's 3, and asked if she wanted to buy that for Daddy for his birthday. She said we should buy it for Daddy AND for her too! :teeth: So, I placed my order.

I actually splurged for the 9 cookie basket...after estimated tax and shipping it came to $95...EEK! :faint:

I'm surprising DH with the move to AKL after our BWV stay. It's his favorite resort, but he thinks we're switching to the All Stars. Luckily he doesn't ask many questions, so he's easy enough to surprise. I'm having the cookies delivered to AKL since the stay there is part of his birthday surprise.

I can't believe I just spent nearly $100 on cookies. What an impressive birthday surprise it will be though...cookies and AKL. Can't get much better than that.

Thanks again! :flower3:

ETA: I should be banned from the budget board...maybe they can make a Budget Busters board for me. :scratchin
