cookie decorating at AKL

Hi All,

Does anyone know if there is a miminum age limit for this? My son will be 2 1/2 at the time of the trip and I wasn't sure if this activity was just for older children.

Hillbeans - we did this last November with our DSs 7 and 8 and saw kids of all ages there. I don't believe there is an age limit but call the day before or the day of and make a "reservation" - it's not a reservation in the formal sense, but they need to get a head cound so they can plan appropriately. The day we did it was a rainy Saturday and those who had "reservations" were taken in immediately and those who did not were waiting while the staff scrambled to make room and obtain more supplies (CMs did a great job too by the way!). You will have a blast - great photo op!

InstImpres - this is an activity for kids at the AKL. When we did it, it was in Boma around 1 pm, maybe 130. The kids were each given a sugar cookie in the shape of a giraffe to decorate as they wish. Each table had icing/frosting, gummy bears, sprinkles, etc. It took about 15-20 minutes and the kids were able to take their cookies with them. It was perfect for a rainy Saturday and the kids really had a good time!

4407Mark - Thanks. I think this would be a nice activity after a morning swim and before an afternoon nap for my DS. I'm really looking forward to my stay at the AKL, and am looking forward to the storytelling, etc.

Hillbeans - You will love the AKL! Our DSs loved the theme and the animals. We also did the Hidden Mickey Hunt - just ask at the front desk and they will give you the sheet. When we finished it, we turned the boys' sheets in and a CM "graded" them - the boys got a special Mickey trader card for their efforts and they were thrilled! While you're there, enjoy Boma - breakfast was unbelieveable and the frunch juice was so good we had to ask for the recipe. Wonderful memories await - have a terrific trip!
