Cookes of Dublin-What's good, bad, really good, and really bad?

Thanks for all the replies and the pictures! We are leaving in less than 24 hours for FL and will be at WDW in less than 4 days. Based on the reviews and pictures (and the fact that we won't be eating at RR this year) I think we'll have at least one meal at Cooke's.

I will return with pictures and a review.:goodvibes

Has anyone tried the scallops? I love scallops, but wonder if they are the little ones, which can sometimes be rubbery, or the big ones.

They are the big scallops, they were quite good when we had them last year.:goodvibes

My son loves the beef and lamb pie, it's his favorite. We did NOT like the mini donuts - tasted like they were fried in old oil - gross

I am usually very happy with the QS meals in Disney.

When I got the fish here it was really bad.
I was expecting a solid white fish and it was a dark gray not very nice fish.
I was thinking it was tilapia.

The chips were fine.

Anyone have a current picture of the fish?
Maybe it is better now.

I’d also like to see a battered sausages or battered burgers on the menu.
This is a staple of Irish chip shops.

We ate there once on our trip. Wanted to go back but didn't make it.

The scallops were big and delicious!

The shrimp was good, but the scallops were better!

DD11 got the Battered Chicken Tenders. Very good.

All the food was delicious and served really hot!

The fries (chips) were good. The only dessert choice was fresh fruit cup. Maybe the cookie? Definitely couldn't get the Doh Bar or the mini donuts. Fruit cup was very good but I would have liked to been able to get something other than 3 fruit cups. ;)

Wanted to go back to try the Doh Bar as a Snack but wasn't sure if it was a SC or not. The menu didn't have any DDP on it.

I have pictures I can post from another computer.

Yes, nbs, they have Brown Sauce
Brown Gravy $3.00

tony67 battered sausages are on the menu
Mini Battered Sausages $8.95

COD is amazing. Their scallops and chips are the best I have ever had and I have visited the UK several times!

We must have gone on a bad day. We had the fish and chips and didn't think either were very good. The tartar sauce, however, is awesome!

Here's my pictures

Our dinner-Battered Chicken, Scallops, and Shrimp. Fruit cups to the top of the picture.

The night we went to DTD to eat the place was packed.:crowded: We got there about 8:30 on a Tuesday night. We checked out WPE-West Side (too busy, no tables), grabbed a boat and went to the Marketplace side. Checked out WPE line was out the door. Checked EoS, pretty crowded as well. So then we went to my first choice (since I wanted to try it) Cooke's. There were only a few people in line and we had no trouble getting a table. The food was hot and fresh. Diet Cokes are refill yourself ;) . We didn't end up eating until 9:30 so my advice is get there early, or get there really late.

We did Cookes for the first time in september. We only ordered scallops and I was quite impressed with how tasty they were. So good, definitely worth the trip.
