Planning far ahead for next year, but need convincing that MVMCP would be worth it! We have done MNSSHP twice, but the Christmas party seems a lot more expensive, especially since there's no discounts for preordering certain dates closer to Christmas...for my family of 6, it would cost about $265!! Looking for pros and cons...

Depends on exactly when you plan to go. We go right after Thanksgiving and MCMCP is not that crowded. It allows us to do MK in 1/2 the time. Plus, when we go, it is the only time you can see the Christmas parade and participate in all the Christmas activities. For us, it is just a special time. In fact we do it twice while we are there and then typically don't go to MK any other time but spend our time in the park. When we go it tends to be much less crowded than during regular park hours ...

Also, there are Annual Passholder discounted tickets you can get for certain dates.

Im going to MVMCP for my first time this year, but everyone that i asked said that it was definetly worth it and amazing to see.

We are also going this year to the holiday party on November 17th. It was an extra $160 for the 4 of us, but I have heard about it "snowing" on main street, and I had to see that and all the decorations.
We went a few years ago to MNSSHP and thought that was nice also. I do not think I would go all the time, as it is expensive enough to go to the parks without paying extra.
I am looking forward to it, I just hope it is not too crowded and still warm enough to go swimming.

We loved MVMCP last year. When we go in '07 it will be on our list of "TO-DO'S". The holiday decorations at night are great. Crowds (especially in the early dates) are light. We found getting on rides to be a piece of cake, in fact many had little to no line (1st week in December). There is a special Holiday Wishes which is awesome. There are special themed shows only found at this party and the parade is my favorite of all the Disney parades. It is a lot of fun. There are also usually rare characters that make appearances for meet & greets at these special parties. Last year we saw Bullseye and also Abu was available. There may have been others, but at the time I wasn't in the hunt for characters. I will be next year though. :teeth:

Nice articificial snow and great atmosphere. Plus, visiting the other parks is nice (Osbourne lights, etc)

We love it, but not sure I could convince you to part with your $$...that's something you'll have to decide. But it is lots of fun!

We went for the first time last year and are going again this year. We had a great time. Things are different for the Christmas Party than on a regular night and the crowds were so low for us. We went in the first week of Dec. last year, but I am expecting it to be a bit more crowded this year since we wont be going until 12/19. It doesnt matter though because our whole family loved it and the fireworks were AMAZING at the party. We loved the shows and parades for Christmas and the cookies and hot chocolate. We have a hysterical picture of us as a souvineer because we didnt have it made until about 11pm and we look frazzled! I will try and do it earlier in the evening this time. It really is a matter of personal preference as to who thinks it is worth the extra money, but we feel it is worth it for our family.

We'll be there 12/19 too. It's our first MVMCP, but we're looking forward to it. I went through the same thing you did trying to decide (there will be 4 in my family and 6 in the family going with us). I finally decided that compared to the whole cost of the trip, it's not "that much" more, and it's sounds like something really fun to celebrate the season that is unique (last year we went to ICE! at the Gaylord Palms and thoroughly enjoyed it, but it was about $20 each). I also decided to go even if the other family didn't want to (they do though). Good luck!

We've enjoyed it each time we've gone. The crowds are always minimal and the atmosphere is magic! I love the snow on Main Street, and this year I'm going to take the time to enjoy the shows.

Have a great time!

Ok to my DH and I it was totally worth it.
Cookies-Coco- Cool Fireworks-Parade-Snow & Santa Priceless

WE LOVED IT so much we are going back this year.

Last year we went on Dec 16th this year the 15th and eating at LTT.

I think anything you do at WDW around the holidays is so much more magical

Our first time was in 2004 and we promised we would go every year. We like to go the first or second weekend because it is not too crowded. The parade and decorations are beautiful and just being in the park when it is not too crowded is worth it to us

We (5 of us) are going 12/2 - 12/10 and I've decided against MVMCP. I have never been to this event, but after looking at our schedule and how many times we'll be visiting MK I can't see spending a few hundred dollars for snow, parades (which we're not into a lot) and the hot chocolate/cookies. Since we're onsite for 8 days or so, I think we'll have enough time for rides and shows, so I don't think we're trying to squeeze in a bunch of rides either. I know it's the whole Christmas spirit that makes it, but I was really moved by the performances at EP during another Christmas season... so I think that will be our Christmas Centerpiece for Disney... we'll pass this time. Sorry, Mickey.

I think we are going to go this year. Everyone we have talked to that has gone says it is really cool and worth it. I think we will enjoy it.

Question though. Hot chocolate? Does it get cold enough in November to drink hot chocolate? I don't know if 60 degrees at night is cold enough for us (it was just in the 30s around here the other night).

We have tickets for the 12/11 MVMCP, and tomorrow we head down for our first MNSSHP. The only thing that would make me wary, if I hadn't already bought tixs, is they way they will handle the crowd control of the day guests leaving & the party starting at the same time.

That aspect is different this year and we'll find out tomorrow how well it is handled.

We have AP's and are DVC and well, we're going to WDW after any discounts are available for MVMCP. In the end, we decided that we ARE going to go, and we also decided that next year we will plan to be in WDW earlier in December so we can get discounted tickets. Can you go earlier??

What date does this usually start? We will be there 11/15-11/18 2007 after our cruise and I am hoping to add some early christmas spirit to our trip. We intially arrive 11/8 for 3 days at WDW but I don't think much is going on that early.

We went first week of december last year. We loved it. We arrived earlier that the party started. I forgot the time but I think they were letting you in around 4. We took advantage of everything, the free cocoa and cookies. The free photo. They let us stay on splash mountain without having to get back in line. Saw the parade (but I am not much for parades). The snow was nice but you can also see it at mgm every night. If I could, I would definitely go again but can't take ds out of high school so I will have to wait four years before I can go. To me it was worth the price.

The party kinda became a tradition for us on our girl trip every year. I usually make a cool t-shirt for all of us. It is a mind-set for me completely puts me into the christmas spirit.

My girls have had some of the best character interaction at the Party. Personal preference everyone has there own opinion!!

As I understand it, if you are going Christmas week then it might not be worth it, since they do snow on Main St, and the rides are the same, and I think most of the parade is the same then. Check out Maousesavers.com for more info. Also, very close to Christmas they tend to be more crowded. If you are riding the fence on the value, then you might not consider it a great value. On the other hand, if your evening choices for going to other parks are limited (MGM closes at 8:30, AK by 5pm, Epcot by 9pm) nad like us, you enjoy evenings, it might still be worth it to get in those extra nighttime hours.

We had a good time last year going in early December, but crowds were fairly lite.
