I'm going to be "managing" my friend's mother's many points with Sunterra resorts. In exchange I get a free vacation every year. My friend doesn't know anything about the timeshare so I'm learning as I go.

We've already booked a standard room at the BC from July 28 - Aug 3. At such a late time, would it even be worth trying to get a studio or 1 BR at BCV for our stay. What would the fees be?

Any help would be appreciated.

Assuming Sunterra is a part of Interval International, I RARELY if ever see BCV come up for exchange. You can try it but I don't think you will be successful. You would pay the exchange fee that II charges Sunterra which varies and depends on the contract Sunterra holds with II, plus you pay an additional fee to Disney of about $100.

I would keep my standard BC reservation if you want to stay at BC. Otherwise, choose a Sunterra resort in Orlando and stay offsite.

I agree you will not be able to trade in, especially at this short time.

While I'd agree that BCV is less likely to come up, it does from time to time. Mostly studios but I've seen 1 BR units as well and a 2 BR a couple of times. Actually it's more likely to see BCV or similar come up at or under 60 days out than at any other time. Still not likely but more likely than otherwise. Studios are the most likely as well. For Sunterra, you're likely better off to try to use at one of their resorts in the area.
