Convention effect on parks?

They have a lot of conventions in Anaheim. Typically conventioners can get discounted evening tickets but it is not a noticeable crowd

In 2017, I stayed at the Anaheim marriott across the street, next to the hilton and convention center. I didnt realize it when I booked but there was a major music festival going on during my stay. I didn't see any increase in the park flow, this was before reservations. I'd expect it to be less impactful now. However, our hotel stay was not great. Loud music till 10pm, drunk people partying, etc. It wasnt a great experience for the family. Try to google a bit and see if there is a convention at the time where you want to stay. Thats just my 2 cents.

Conventions tend to affect hotel availability and pricing more than they affect the crowds in the parks.
This...hotels (including resort hotels) and surrounding businesses like Garden Walk restaurants will be packed but very few of convention attendees make it into the parks for enough time to have any significant impact on the in park experience.

DTD will also typically be busier at night with convention attendees wanting a dose of Disney.

I have attended and worked many conventions in and around the resort district...it really sucks being that close and not really getting a chance to go to the parks! Once did a 6 day event AT THE GRAND and other than one in park event that Disney hosted for the attendees did not set foot inside the gates otherwise.

It probably depends on the convention, the June 12-15 is a smaller convention. A larger convention like WonderCon, D23, or the Cheer and Dance competitions will have more impact especially in the evening and the days leading up to and after the convention.
