We have so many things to consider in new appliances for our kitchen - who knew there were so many choices?! :confused3

We're considering a convection oven but is it worth $500 more than a regular oven? Anyone out there have one - is it worth the extra $?

I have 2 in my kitchen - Ive used the convection option once- Thanksgiving! It is neat, but in a yr only used once! :stir:

I have one, but have yet to figure out the stupid thing. All I know, is the temp is lower, and the times are shortened when using it.

The times I've used it, it has dried things out, in my opinion. I think I made a meatloaf with it.

Disclaimer: My issue probably had a heck of a lot more to do with the cook (me), than my convection oven. Call it operator error.

We have one. I do use it when I need something to cook faster. It's a convenient option to have.

We had just gotten one last week and are still trying to figure it out.
I had made a banana bread a couple days ago, and it cut down the baking time by 15 minutes, and the bread was moist.

My husband is familiar with convection ovens since they use them at the hotel, and that is what he wanted verses a regular gas oven. I on the other hand, wanted to get a stainless steel oven, so we paid more for the stainless steel and convection part for the oven.

I've got both a convection and a regular over, and this is my first convection oven. Had I known then what I know now, there would have been TWO convection ovens and no regular ovens!

They heat up faster, DO NOT BURN ANYTHING! No hot spots, often cook faster, they are amazing!!

I have a Jenn-Air which has both the regular oven and convection oven features. You just turn the knob to select which one you want to use. I really like having that option - best of both worlds! I also love my Jenn-Air because it has a powerful downdraft exhaust system built into it so I don't have to have a range hood above it. I've had it for several years though so I don't know if they still manufacture this particular model or not.

Our Profile also has the option to use the convection feature or not. That is great! I always use it though. :teeth:

Yep, in fact just finished with a 2.3 pound pork roast in 1 hour. Frigidaire Professional, stainless.

This is the same brand I have. I LOVE my oven - I just haven't gotten used to it yet. I'm thinking if I cooked more, it would help...
