Hi we have just booked with Virgin Travelstore for flights with Continental, have any of you guys flown with them and how did you get on?

Thanks for any input.

Used them for our first trip 5 years ago. It was fine, plenty of leg room (compared with package!!). Free drinks, good food, ice creams, no seat back TV's but it was a long time ago. All on time but our connection at NY was very quick - we got a ride from the little guy who normally transports disabled folk!

Onward flight was overbooked (quite par for the course) and they were offering a O/N stay in NYC plus $??. As it was our first trip and our kids were desperate to get to disney we didn't take them up on it, but plenty did so everyone who wanted on got on the flight in the end.

Continental do ( or did) flightshare with Virgin so that although you were ticketed as a Continental flight you were in fact flying Virgin. Even if it isn't the case, Continental are one of the better American carriers, their planes were a little older when I last flew on them and the entertainment systems were the old style shared screens but they are a more than adiquate carrier.

Have only flown with them across the Atlantic Business Class, which was very good indeed. Flew Newark to Orlando economy and it was dire. Problem was not so much the plane as the crew who were extremely rude, probably because we were delayed 3 hours on the runway!!! They actually THREW bags of Pretzels at everyone. However, the standard of the plane was fine.

what about the on board entertainment, were the tvs the big share ones over the aisle or were they individual? This is the only thing DH is bothered about for the whole trip!! Sad eh!

The planes we were on both had seat back screens, but at that time (1999) they didn't have them on all their aircraft.

We have travelled with them several times, We went on a 777 each time from Manchester, I would not hesitate to fly with them again.

The planes seemed spacious . clean and the seatback Tvs all worked fine. The cabin crew were very friendly.

Hi

We fly with Continental every year Glasgow to Orlando via Newark and can't fault them.
Last year we had a different aircraft for the Glasgow to Newark part of the journey and had individual TV screens which you could also play games on. You can get the films and entertainment lists on their website.

We are due to fly with them in about 3 weeks time. Dublin to Newark then on to Orlando.

From what I have found on the Irish website they are using 767-400's which will have seat back TV's with a choice of movies and games etc.,

I am not sure of the web address for the UK but if you check www.continental.com there should be a link to the UK site with all you need to know.

I'll report back and let you know what they were like
