We were wondering if after our dinner at Chef Mickey's ::MickeyMo , and some touring the CR, could we go on the rooftop of the CR to watch Wishes? I have read on some threads that you still can, but I have also read that you cannot. If you could please clear up this confusion for me, I would appreciate it!! :worship:

You are welcome to go to the 4th floor viewing area, this is open to anyone, however you must be dining at the California Grill to access the 15th floor viewing area.

Only diners at the California Grill are able to view wishes from the observation deck up there. They had too many issues with this a bit more than a year ago so they made it policy to only allow the CA Grill diners there.

What if we go to CG for drinks? Does that count? I may want to do this our second night before Hoop...

The problem is the staff will not let anyone up - even for drinks - if it's too out of hand. Someone may ask you to wait at the 2nd floor check-in until it's cleared.

Only if there is room available at the bar. They no longer allow it to get 3-4 people deep. You'll be either "held" on the second floor or they'll suggest the other lounge outside Chef Mickey's (name escapes me) as an alternative.

If you are waiting for a lounge or bar seat and someone with a PS comes along and wants to go up early for a cocktail, they will get priority.

ok, I may make a ps then!

Please don't make a PS unless you're planning on eating dinner. If you make a PS it's expected that you'll eat a meal, not take a table to linger for fireworks. If you make a PS and have no intention of eating, it might keep someone who actually wants to dine there from being able to.

A good view, Yes, Great view, no. The best view for wishes is in the Magic Kingdom.

Yeah, unfortunately :guilty: we won't be in the parks until later on in the summer (this trip is Spring Break, no parks) it's a part of a surprise for my little brother to watch the fireworks from Poly......, so far that's where we are going.

Wishes, unlike Fantasy In the Sky Fireworks, gets lost in the translation when seen from outside MK. I have seen Wishes from both the Poly beach and out near the bus stop outside the MK. The fireworks are OK (nowhere near as spectacular as Fantasy, because you are missing the ones that are low, plus the music, the storyline, etc,), you really aren't getting the essence of what Wishes is meant to be. To do that, it is best you see Wishes from anywhere on Main Street USA within the MK.

I have also seen part of Wishes at the MK and what I saw literally blew me away! It was absolutely GORGEOUS! Nothing like what we experienced from outside of the park!
