Hi, we just returned from the Contemporary. We had a lake view room in the north wing.
Having stayed at POFQ in the past (and many other WDW resorts) my family has hands down agreed that the Contemporary was our least favorite hotel.
The monorail's convenience is overrated unless you plan on attending the Magic Kingdom the most often. My family prefers Epcot; a trip to Epcot from the Contemporary took at least 30 minutes and involved going down to the first floor in the north wing, across the courtyard to the main building, up three escalators, onto the monorail to the TTC, exit that monorail and go down a ramp, underneath the monorail, then up another ramp to catch the monorail to Epcot.
We have never in the past had blisters on our feet and 3 of the 5 of us had horrible blisters on our toes. My husband's theory is it's because of the ramps, walking down them puts extra force on your toes.
On the positive side our location in the north wing was very close to the main building, the bus stop, the Food and Fun Center and the pool.
We prefer the theming at the moderates, especially in the pool and garden areas. POFQ is one of our favorites.
