Hi all- it's been awhile- been having problems with my computer again. My SIL enjoys the gardens at POFQ, and I was wondering what the gardens are like around the Contemporary. Is the pool area better at POFQ or Contemporary? We currently are scheduled at the Contemporary due to the monorail. Thanks for your help:)

Hi, we just returned from the Contemporary. We had a lake view room in the north wing.
Having stayed at POFQ in the past (and many other WDW resorts) my family has hands down agreed that the Contemporary was our least favorite hotel.
The monorail's convenience is overrated unless you plan on attending the Magic Kingdom the most often. My family prefers Epcot; a trip to Epcot from the Contemporary took at least 30 minutes and involved going down to the first floor in the north wing, across the courtyard to the main building, up three escalators, onto the monorail to the TTC, exit that monorail and go down a ramp, underneath the monorail, then up another ramp to catch the monorail to Epcot.
We have never in the past had blisters on our feet and 3 of the 5 of us had horrible blisters on our toes. My husband's theory is it's because of the ramps, walking down them puts extra force on your toes.
On the positive side our location in the north wing was very close to the main building, the bus stop, the Food and Fun Center and the pool.
We prefer the theming at the moderates, especially in the pool and garden areas. POFQ is one of our favorites.

We stayed in the north garden wing at CR with a bay view in May of this year. We thought it was a fabulous view and enjoyed the grounds very much. On the other hand, we have stayed at Dixie in the past (before it merged with POR) and thought those grounds were beautiful also. To us, POR is too spread out, though, and took forever to walk to the main building and bus stops. You mentioned you're staying at CR due to the monorail. That is why we chose CR in May and it was the best decision we ever made. It has a walkway to MK which we utilized every day. It has been too long since I've seen the pool area at POR, but we enjoyed the pool area at CR. There is a "main" pool and then a smaller round pool right next to the bay and beach area.

The factor which my family considers most important in choosing a resort is location. With two small children now and a double stroller, we tend to favor MK and therefore the MK resorts make the most sense for us. The monorail is an added plus because we did not have to keep folding and unfolding our stroller -- we could just roll it on.
