Just curious has anyone ever been "magically" upgraded to a concierge/club level room at the Contemporary Resort upon your arrival during check-in?

The only time we stayed there years ago (maybe 20 or so) we were upgraded to concierge almost as soon as we booked. They were doing construction at the time on the inside (I'm guessing room refurbs.). While it was o.k. it showed me I would never pay for concierge.

With resorts at usually fully booked it seems upgrades not frequent. Book the room you want.

I was upgraded to Bay Lake Towers (the DVC building next door), the only way we would be getting a club level upgrade would be to pay the difference. If you want club level I suggest you book that instead of hoping to be upgraded.

Last year we were upgraded from Bay Lake View to Theme Park view. This is only up grade we have received in 15years. We ask every year.

Not at CR but it happened to us at Beach Club on our honeymoon in 2005 (which is a VERY different time than it is now LOL). We booked a standard view room and found out before we arrived that we had been upgraded to water view, by Disney. We were very excited. When we checked in at the front desk the CM gave us our room key and smiled as she said it was on the 5th floor.

The 5th floor, you say? Why that's...that's club level, isn't it? She nodded and pointed us towards the elevators. We had an amazing view of Crescent Lake and BW out our room and enjoyed the lounge every day.
