Has disney actually confirmed that there are going to be villa's. I keep hearing about this and I keep thinking what happens if that's just going to be a whole bunch of new rooms instead of being DVC.

Officially -- no. Internally among many "in the know" ... yes it will be DVC.

since they torn the north wing down - which DVC will do.

but until Disney says. It could still be suites.

hope not - waited a long, long time for a monrail DVC - but who knows...

these will not be just rooms.

they will either be DVC or suites or both.

these suites will not be cheap (if they are suites) - so despite people comparing them to family suites at All star - think about 5 times the cost.

They are probably waiting for AKV to sell or at least get the main building finished. They currently have Grand Californian Villas in the works, Hawaii Villas in the works, AKV being constructed. A lot of stuff in the works already.

I belive they also cannot announce until they reach a certain point in construction, in accordance with Florida law.

I seem to recall a similar delay with the announcement of the AKV.

I don't think there is any such restriction. I recall a few years ago Disney did announce that there would be a DVC built at the Eagle Pines/Osprey Ridge golf course but that never happened.

The law actually says they can't begin selling until construction reaches a certain point. They can announce whenever...

On a couple of occasions to engage a CM in a casual conversation in reference to the new CR DVC. They are well trained and did not bite, however one CM said that he would reccommend that we look at the information posted on the buses " The best kept secret"

They're plainly waiting to announce Contemporary DVC until AKL DVC is pretty much sold out.

We just got back and visited the CR. Sorry if this was already posted, but we were surprised by the large crane where the North Wing was. Last time we were there, the North Wing was demolished, this time it "appeared" like something was being built.

That said, the CR is one of our favorite resorts, but the confusion on the 4th floor and the crowds at the elevator are making us re-think it. Unless they can add another set of elevators and distribute the crowds, we might re-think staying there.
