Can anyone tell me if the big pool at the Contemporary has a transfer tier? Also, how is the resort if you're in an electric scooter? Any tips?

We were at Contemporary in October 2008 with DD who uses a wheelchair. I would say it was quite easy to get around. One of the nice things we used was the walking path to MK - easy to find (just follow the monorail overhead) and a quick 10 minute walk. The elevators in the Garden wing (where we stayed) were small, but not impossible to use). Staying in the tower or on first floor of the Garden wing would help avoid elevators.

There were not any transfer steps at the pool in October (I was especially looking for any accessibility to the pool). I have not heard of any construction there, so my best guess is that they have not added any since October. It's possible that they may have added a lift without much construction, but there was none in October.
This page from the DIS site has a lot of information about Contemporary. There is a youtube video that shows a good overview of the resort. There are also links to a map and some photos.

Perhaps the DVC quiet pool, as it is new construction, will be more user friendly for those with mobility issues. I think all guests, DVC or not can use the DVC quiet pools at resorts that share amenities. I guess we'll know more when the Bay Lake Tower addition actually opens.

In March there was a Rehab of the pool. I can't figure out what they did however.

Thanks for the info.
I looked on the Resorts Board, but there are no reports of what was done and I can't tell if it is open now.

Pool looks the same excepting the slide is now medium blue and creamy tan color paint instead of light blue, there is new tile on the side walls of the pool above the water line, there has been some resurfacing work on the bottom (per the lifeguard - I couldn't tell). The only clearly obvious thing was the slide color.
The privacy fencing is still up as the landscaping is incomplete and the "splash area" is also not built yet. These are still in the works per the lifeguard - date complete TBD.
Unfortunately one other thing that has not changed is the intermittent closures for "unscheduled maintenance".

Pool photos but nothing to answer our question.

Try calling the hotel for answers.

Thanks, Laurie.
I looked earlier, but didn't find that.
The photo does not show any transfer tier (bump steps). I'm looking at it on my iPod so it's kind of little and I can't tell if they added anything for a lift (that's harder to tell because all that is there when the lift is not in use is a small hole).

I asked on the Resort Board if anyone knew what was being done. The replies I got were that it was mostly landscaping.
