If they plan on rehabbing the CR- it would probably happen after SoG reopens.
They're using the North Garden Wing until THEIR rehab is done in Sept. of 2003.
Yes, they are all in the bold colors. The pictures I've seen, as well as my own pictures, make the rooms look horrible. But, they actually aren't bad in person.
We love the Contemporary. The rooms were very bright and bigger than the other rooms we have stayed in on Disney property. We have only stayed in the tower so I don't know about the garden wing rooms. I can't imagine they'd be much different.
It's been a dream of mine to stay at CR since my first monorail ride thru as a child. I know we will split our resorts next trip, and I'm really thinking of a monorail resort during the last three night. It's between Poly and CR. S
DSs LOVED the CR. DH was reluctant to stay at CR because it was the hotel he stayed in as a kid, and he thought it would be outdated and rundown. It was not. The colors are bright and the designs are post-modern, think art deco in primary colors. I have read these boards long enough to know that not everyone likes CR. However, we did. DSs loved being able to finally stay in the "cool hotel with the monorail in it." DH and DSs want to stay at CR if we go to WDW again. I would like to try the Beach Club but I think I will be outvoted. We used a code in 2/02 and stayed in the Tower for $150/nt. Don't know if there will be any more deals like that any time soon but if the U.S. economy doesn't pick up ...maybe.
Sandra, here are my pictures from my stay: http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/floridia...porary+Resort/Tower+Club+Room&.src=ph&.view=t The only difference between this room and the regular rooms (tower & wing) is the refrigerator, coffee maker, and turndown (these can be requested in the regular rooms, but come with the Club rooms [the fridge has to be requested even in Club level, but are complimentary]).
