Contemporary - no rooms end of Feb?

Does anyone know if there is something going on the last week of Feb? I tried to book CR and there are no rooms.

Does Disney reserve the rooms and release them later? It seems weird.

If there is a conference booked, they do block a number of rooms out of inventory and then release any leftovers after the conference book-by date. We couldn't get CR for our trip in January, and a very helpful CRO CM told me that there is a convention coming in the last weekend of our trip that has rooms blocked. Any unneeded rooms would be released after the group's book-by date. Since in our case, the date is only about a month before our trip, I'm not planning to call back to check, but it was interesting to know anyway.

My guess that it's 99.9% a convention which is the reason you can't get any rooms. However if you try everyday by looking online I am sure a room will become available, so hopefully you will be lucky enough to get one.

It took me almost 3 weeks to get a room at the CR, and I did! I only got 5 out of 6 of the nights, but i got it! Just keep trying, you'll get it.

I was trying for the end of Jan too. But we needed two rooms, so we gave up.

We booked AKL because there was no availability at CR as well for the week we're going. DH thought it would be fun since we always stayed there before we had kids. I've been checking every day and still nothing.
