Do the King Club Level standard rooms (not suites) on the 14th floor of the Contemporary ALL have Magic Kingdom views?

Or do you book it and take a chance on getting stuck with a Bay Lake view?

Thanks! :confused3

You take a chance.
3 standard rooms and 1 HA room face the MK.
1 faces Bay Lake.
Here is the layout of the 14th floor:

On the 14th floor you can not make a reservation for the Magic Kingdom View or the Bay Lake View in a standard room, because that's only possible when booking one of their various suites.

:confused3 Looking on the map of the 14th floor posted above, I was wondering if you have a guaranteed King bed -- because the one standard room facing away from the MK shows it had 2 Queen beds. (unless I am reading it wrong). Wouldn't a guaranteed King bed then also guarantee a MK view?

Sorry if I'm complicating things, just confused...:confused3

You are absolutely correct. If you have a king bed on the 14th floor you will have a magic kingdom view.
However... The question now is can you book a king bed or is that just a request? hmmmm

It's still a request because it's a standard room and unlike the suites up there they don't come with a guaranteed view. I know it sounds weird because there are only 2 King rooms on the Magic Kingdom side, however that's the way it works up there.

So then, the King bed must only a be a request, not a guaranteed room category... (4905 shows 2 queens)

Thanks for the info!:)

One question, is the chart to-scale? It looks like some rooms are way smaller than others up there -- I'm surprised...

You're welcome and yes the chart is up to scale. The time when my family and I got upgraded there I walked down the hallway on both sides and that's how I remember it. One reason why it might look weird is because they have some of the suites next to the standard rooms, which is obvious when you look at the rooms on the Magic Kingdom side. Plus the hallways kind of turn when you walk down them, so they are not straight like on the other floors in the Tower.

We were in 4905. We requested a Bay Lake view. We did not consider is "stuck" at all. We LOVED this view. It was stunning. You see FW, WL, with Epcot off in the distance. We could see the very top of the Epcot fireworks plus the Water Parade from our balcony.

When we wanted to see the MK side, we went into the lounge. The lounge has a double wide balcony. We watched Wishes (while having dessert) on the balcony every night.

We had the best of both worlds.

To the best of my knowledge, because the rooms are so limited on the 14th floor, they do "block" a room number for you when you make your reservation. At least those I've spoken to who have had room reservations up there, have been able to find out their view immediately. Maybe this policy has changed, but that's how it used to be handled.

Hello,

It's my first post. :flower3: I'am sorry i'am French and don't very good speak (write) english. For 3 days i told me the same questions about the 14th Floor, rooms and Magic Kingdom views. And it is not really easy to know the truth.
First i booked at the Atrium Club (12th Floor) with a Magic Kingdom view request. Bay Lake are certainly a good view too, but when you come from France you want to see the Magic Kingdom of course. :wizard:
So when i send email with the itinerary planning office i asked for the difference between the two concierge levels and they told me there is only suites on the 14th Floor. I was a little beat wondering, because i know concierge level to be guest at the Disneyland Hôtel concierge level at Disneyland Resort Paris : The Castle Club, with breathlees Main Street U.S.A. views, that where suites are, connecting rooms are.:cool2:
So i made few date tests on the internet walt disney world website for a room only booking. And, what appear : Standard Room Club Level and Standard Room -King- Level and when you read the description, you will see that the Standard Room -King- Level offer a Magic Kingdom view and it is not a request. :cheer2:
So i book per internet. BUT it was impossible to book this type of room with a magic your way package on internet because when you had tickets this type of room disapear.:confused:
So i called the reservation center and i was switch at guest services specially for suites booking :cheer2: and then it was possible to change my room reservation only in a magic your way package with deluxe dinning option because it was the same for the cast member, when she choose the basic dinning option, this type of room disapear.:confused:
And when i asked if Standard Room -King- Club level have always Magic Kingdom views she told me no and put my Magic Kingdom view on request.:eek:
But now, when i see the plan from for the 14th Floor it is clear that :
- It's possible to book a room at the 14th Floor ;
- It's possible to book a Standard room -King- Tower Club ;
- The Standard room -King- Tower Club offers always Magic Kingdom view.
That are certainly the truth.:thumbsup2
The only think i hope not to be upgraded in a one bedroom suite with a bay lake view.:rotfl2:

Welcome to the DIS, Chester!

OK - so I'm still confused. We made our reservation by phone. The Cast Member said that we're getting 14th floor King Club with MK view. I realize that the MK view is a "request" though the CM made it sound like a done deal.

The reservation confirmation email has arrived. It identifies the room as Standard Room - Club Level (CY). Is the CY for sure the 14th floor King Level, or do I need to call them again to make sure?

Thanks!
