How much do you forsee the experience of visiting DL & DCA changing in the next few years with Pixar Pier, Star Wars, and the new hotel?

Context: I fell in love with the charm last year, and while visiting again this Christmas season I know I'll want to return. I'm admittedly fearful of all the changes coming altering the experience/vibe, and wondering if I should try to come back next spring or wait until all the new construction is completed/ the crowds shake out- if they even do. It's an ~8 hour flight for me, so it requires some foresight/planning on my end.

What say the locals/regulars?

I'm not a local, but we just finished a year of AP's. Here is my take:

• Pixar Pier: They just re-themed the existing area. It is open but not totally done. It will only get better. I don't think it will draw any huge crowds more than what is already there.
• Star Wars Land: It is in the corner of DL and construction isn't making an impact on the rest of the park right now. Once it is open, I don't think it will change the vibe of everything else, but I expect that land to be extremely crowded at first. Crowds could spill out into the rest of the resort, but only time will tell. Maybe the rest of the resort will be fine because everyone is squished into that land.
• New Hotel: If you are staying at the Grand or any harbor motel, or any place where you enter from harbor, I don't think you'll even notice. You have to walk all the way through DTD to even get to the construction.

The only thing that would keep me away is Star Wars Land. We plan to wait until that land isn't insanely crowded before we go back.

The primary disruption for SWGE was the change to the Rivers of America. Now that that's finished, there shouldn't be anything that affects regular DL visitors until the new land opens.

Pixar Pier shouldn't affect anything going forward; however, the new Marvel land may. Bugs Land will, of course, be gone, and I imagine it'll be impossible to walk directly from Carsland to GotG while that construction is going on. I doubt it'll affect much else, though.
