Construction at WL?

Hello DISers!

Can anyone either tell me what construction is going to be happening at WL this fall or point me to a thread that explains it? I saw it mentioned in another thread, but there were no details mentioned. When RO discounts for the fall come out I was thinking about switching to WL if the discount is significant enough (we are currently at POR in a Royal Room), but with the mention of Construction, I am now unsure.

How does construction affect the "magic" of a resort? We have been there twice to eat at WCC and LOVE the place. But cost has always been a factor for us. I don't want to spend the extra money if my wait at the bus stop or the boat dock is going to be filled with bulldozers and jack hammers. I don't want to see caution tape and big construction fences.

Thanks!

Thank you! I read the first few pages of that thread. I am totally unsure about what to do. I have always wanted to stay at WL and this upcoming trip will most likely be the last one for a LONG time. Just how bad it is to stay at a resort under construction like that? I won't be swimming. Probably won't even spend much time on the balcony. I would be staying there just for the experience of it. :confused3

We stayed at the WL last summer when the construction was going on. Wasn't bad at all. Maybe you could request a room far away from the South Wing...I believe that's where the construction is now. As far as the DVC expansion, that hasn't been approved, yet. So who knows for sure when that will even start. If you are going to be there in a few months (Fall time), then you should be fine. Of course this is just my opinion ;) I'm a WL fan, and think that this resort has some of the best ambiance onsite...coupled with the fact that you can boat over to the MK, CR and FW.

Our trip is the first week in November. I really want to stay there, have since my first meal at WCC, but I don't want my first stay there to be filled with memories of bulldozers and construction walls. I'll have to wait to see what the RO discount is.... that may not even be significant enough for to justify staying there.
