Connection through Pearson

Hi there. We are flying into Pearson Wednesday morning and then onto Orlando. We only have an hour and a half to make the connection...I'm worried this isn't enough time...

Can anyone explain how it works with Air Canada...

Do we check our bags at home base. Pick them up at Pearson, go back through security and then onto Customs?

If we just take carry-on bags only, do we just get off the plane in Toronto and head straight to customs? Or would we have to go back through security them to customs?

Thanks!

Last time we connected in Toronto this was the process:

Get off plane, head to customs. There are new machines set up in customs where you scan your boarding pass and passport then you sit and wait until your name comes up on a TV screen. You can't enter the customs line until you see your name.

Enter customs line and when you get to a counter they will show you a picture of your luggage.

After customs head to security.

This was the process when we flew a year ago so I am guessing it hasn't changed. You should be ok with an hour and a half but you won't have a ton of time to spare.
