Connecting Flights? Shopping

Hiya

Ok so next year we are going Upper Class with virgin there and back, we have 96kg each!!, can you imagine the shopping I can do?

Anyhow I was considering catching a flight down from manchester or leeds to gatwick the day before, but will they carry the weight on the way back?

We really dont mind driving down (chris is really looking forward to gatwick airport) and are booking in at the Hilton for the night.

Also is it better to do twilight check in? or check in online, and is there a seperate line for uc?

Anna when we were coming home in 2004 with VA we had 30 kg over and the domestic airline TRIED to charge us for 30kg excess baggage at £7 per kg. I managed to sweet talk the guy and got the fee waivered! This year we are flying with a domestic airline that allows you to check the bags the whole way through with VA. You could look into this but personally I would drive! If you do decided to fly just be careful what airline you use for the domestic flights!

Anna - I would drive. The domestic airline won't honour your Upper Class baggage allowance and will charge you excess baggage fees. Why did you decide to change from flying from Manchester, anyway?

Regarding check-in we usually check-in online. If you decide to check-in at the airport there are, of course, separate Upper Class check-in desks, and before the days when we used online check-in, we never encountered any major lines at the UC desks.

chris decided lol, hes never been from gatwick and decided its an adventure lol (as long as he does half the driving I dont care!)
